  1. Glad you aren't in pain, wishing you a speedy recovery and relief from the nausea.
  2. Yep! I am still only able to handle 2-2.5 oz of solids. 3oz will make me slime and feel ill. I measure pretty much everything solid to avoid it.

    Several Years Out?

I know 2 of my relatives that have been sleeved for 6 years. They are both maintaining with very little regain. I work with a lady that is 4 years out, she maintains her ideal weight. I have talked to her in depth, she said she maintains pretty easily at this point, but if she does gain any more than 5 lbs she buckles down for a week or two until she loses it.
  4. I have a bunch of the little 4oz Rubbermade containers that I use to take stuff to work. I catch myself using them often at home... half full and I know that its about 2 oz, which is just right.

    Fiber....not so much

Yikes! Okay, I will never have cereal, tortillas, and Beans in the same day!
  6. Are you logging your food? How many calories and carbs do you have daily? Are you getting in your Protein and fluids? It is hard to say if you are eating too much, without knowing what it is you are eating daily.
  7. I try to keep them under 30.
  8. Homemade would probably be more tasty. Don't make too much! I probably didn't have broth once a day. I pretty much just had my 3 Protein drinks, Water, and a Vitamin water Zero daily.
  9. If you were told you need to do one, and haven't, you should let your surgeon know. Maybe you can reschedule for a few weeks from now, and prepare for this surgery.

    2nd week post op

Full liquids. pureed strained Soups and Protein drinks. Hated it... but it really passed quickly.
  12. At a week out, maybe an hour... I make my drink and carry it around and sip on it. A few little sips, a couple of minutes later a few more little sips... until it is gone. I am 6-7 weeks post op, and it is the same now, about an hour.

    Holy heart burn!

I take acid blockers twice a day. I think it is very common for surgeons to prescribe them for the first few months, and then taper off or stop them a few months out.

    I am always sick

Call your surgeons office and let them know how you are progressing. Are you on full liquids or purees? How much and/or what is making you vomit?

    Time off work for recovery

I had surgery on a Monday and went back to work the following Monday. I was still sore, but not in pain at all. I was also tired at the end of the day, but actually felt better getting back in my routine than I did laying on my couch. I had an easy recovery.

    Restless Legs and No Sleep

@@CanyonBaby I will definitely try this! It sounds odd, but HEY, if it works I wont question it. edited: I was curious and Googled this... it seems to be a widely used home remedy. I will be trying this tonite.

    Restless Legs and No Sleep

I am taking all my Vitamins, but haven't eaten red meat in weeks... and am limited on veggie sources. I will have to check my Vitamins and see what they provide. I have some routine lab work coming up, so I will be able to ask then... and make sure they check my Iron levels. I assumed this was temporary since I have never had this before. It is very annoying, I just have to finally get out of bed and go to the bathroom or kitchen... anything to just not lay there and feel that weird, restless, uncomfortable feeling. Hope it goes away for you soon, the insomnia part does get annoying.

    Restless Legs and No Sleep

I have never had this before either, but have had a problem with this since surgery. I was wondering if it was surgery or diet related. Shortly after I get in bed to sleep my legs, especially my thighs, get a heavy, uncomfortable, creeping crawling feeling. I wonder if it is from Iron deficiency? From WebMD, Possible causes: " Certain chronic diseases and medical conditions, including iron deficiency, Parkinson’s disease, kidney failure, diabetes, and peripheral neuropathy often include symptoms of RLS. Treating these conditions often gives some relief from RLS symptoms. Medications. Some types of medications, including anti-nausea drugs, antipsychotic drugs, some antidepressants, and cold and allergy medications containing sedating antihistamines, may worsen symptoms."

    Drinking too much water?

I had the same concern, I felt like Water went down very easy after the first few days. I emailed my Doc/nut and was told water empties very fast, but to have no more than 4 ounces in 10 or 15 minutes, as that is about a brand new sleeve capacity. I know that each Sleeve/Surgeon/person is different, but I had to pace myself so I wouldn't drink a bottle of water too fast.

    Hair - 6 weeks out

The fallout, if you get it, is caused by things that happen at the root level. I don't think coloring or highlighting it will make a difference with the fallout rate, but it might with breakage if you are prone to it.

    Eating out

I went out the second week with my Husband, for Chinese food. I had egg drop Soup of course! We have been out at least once a week since then. When we ate Mexican food I had a piece of his chicken fajitas, a spoon of refried Beans, and a spoon of Guacamole. When we went to a Japenese steak house I ordered the Scallop appetizer. Usually I pilfer off of his plate, sometimes they have an appetizer that seems Sleeve friendly. It is really easy right now (6 weeks out) because about 2 to 2.5oz is all I can eat at a time.
