Anyone NOT have gas pains?
liannatx replied to tnkrrbl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I didn't have them at all with my band removal, or with the sleeve.... same fabulous surgeon. -
How long was your hospital stay?
liannatx replied to alindsey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Had surgery Monday morning, went home Wednesday morning. Stayed 2 nights. -
Those are amazing results! As soon as I saw the amount I looked to left to see if you were Male, lol. My husband has a metabolism like that... responds very efficiently to diet or exercise.

I love the Dannon Light & Fit. I don't even have a favorite, but I have the cherry in my fridge right now. When I get the Key Lime my husband eats it all : )

Awesome! You must feel great!

liannatx replied to so excited and so scared's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also checked after surgery while still out. -
Yay! I think I broke my little stall too. I was prepared for stalls, but it is still frustrating LOL.

5 Weeks Post Op Food and Travel Advice
liannatx replied to almosttogoal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 5 weeks I was still having a Protein drink for Breakfast daily. Lunch/Dinner/Snack Staples that are cheap and easy: Tuna salad, Chicken salad, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, Scrambled egg with cheese, refried Beans with cheese. I found Tilipia and Flounder very easy to digest, and super quick and easy to cook in a skillet with a touch of olive oil and some seasonings. A package of turkey meatballs are very convenient as a meal or protein snack. String cheese, Laughing cow, or sliced cheese with a piece of lunch meat make a great roll-up. Beef jerky is always handy and keeps well. A boiled egg is just about the perfect size for a meal or snack at 5 weeks. -
Stalled...trying to get out of it.
liannatx replied to kyrickchick64's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will be 8 weeks post-op tomorrow. These past 2-3 weeks have not been great for me either. I feel like I have lost nothing in weeks... but I will actually end my second month (tomorrow) losing 6 lbs. I will take it happily, because I had a frustrating loss of 1 lb followed by a week of ZERO loss. I also have worked to get my calories from 600 up to 800ish a day. I added some avocado, started using milk in my shakes, etc.... I had 2 days of not great eating this week. Like 1100 calories 100 carbs of grazing not great... but woke up this morning to see that I have lost another lb this week. I don't know if the shake up of calories/carbs did it, or if my body is just ready to continue losing again... but I will take it! I think we just have to keep on keeping on, and it will happen. -
Recovery from Band Removal vs. Sleeve Surgery?
liannatx replied to Bndtoslv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I also found the band removal super easy to recover from. I didn't even have any gas pains from it, just the soreness. I didnt think that the Sleeve surgery was any worse recovery for me than the Band was. I had surgery on a Monday and went back to work the following Monday. It helped me greatly that I was able to meet my Fluid and Protein goals starting from the 3rd day post-op. I really felt pretty good overall, just the soreness and a little bloated feeling. I did find that I was pretty tired at the end of the day, but I expected that. I think I had a bit of a "been there, done that" feeling going into this surgery.... I pretty much knew what to expect as after effects of laproscopic surgery, and knew what to expect on the phases reintroducing solid foods. -
Yep, I went with Dr. Alvarez

Question: one week out
liannatx replied to tagaroo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Both seem normal in my experience. I didn't have a BM for days, and when I finally did it was followed by a day or two of diarrhea. I had some bruising at all but one of my incisions. Several days out the smallest one on the left side (not the largest sorest one) started spreading and getting very dark eggplant colored. Everything ended up healing just fine. -
I love to cook Tilapia in a skillet with some lemon pepper. I also like it with a Cajun Blackening seasoning.

how do you make your chicken salad on pureed diet?
liannatx replied to judyoz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used canned chicken breast (convenience) and regular Miracle Whip, I didn't add anything else to it. After weeks of liquids/purees it was incredibly good. I still love to take this for lunch, but sometimes I mash it with Fat-free Ranch dressing instead of Mayo. LOL, I agree on the resemblance. -
You look great! You already look like you are at an ideal weight to me!

I am so sorry for your loss. It is tough to deal with for sure. It surely is different for everyone. When we lost our son I was just detached from life in general for about 3 months (and gained my final 30lbs). It took a full 6 months to shake the worst of the depression. I never had the lack of appetite, but it was before the Sleeve for me. I guess now I would just not care to eat too... At the least have a Protein Drink or 2 daily so you are getting in some nutrients and protein.

Gas And Bowel Movements On The Plane Ride Back
liannatx replied to Proud2BMe's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I didn't have any real issues with the gas. It isn't the same as "gas" from digesting food... it is just the leftover air they pump your stomach up with. I don't even remember burping much or anything unusual. As for the BM, most people don't have one for several days after surgery. There is nothing to form one. -
Omg I'm dying...not really but...
liannatx replied to Jnizzi's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
They were too thick and solid for me. I had to thin them out before I could tolerate them, and even then I don't think I could eat more than an ounce the first few times I ate them. -
chicken salad, tuna salad, and fat-free cottage cheese were my main ones. Dannon Light and Fit Greek yogurt. Refried Beans with cheese.

226 lbs. My little stall broke : )
-
I had it for 1-2 days and then it stopped. I didn't take anything for it... I assumed my body needed the cleanout, it just stopped on its own. It is very very common, people refer to it as a "liquid in, liquid out" episode.
-
I left them on until the started falling off! I was so afraid to peel them off, lol, I really did leave them until the edges were curling up and they were barely adhered. It was about 2 weeks. When one fell off in the shower I took the rest off.

Yum! I love any kind of squash.
-
Havent tried the Quest but I have tried the Shirataki noodles in the past... not a fan. Spaghetti squash is good topped with sauce, so is zuchinni noodles.
