  1. If it happens again try popping a Tums. You might have had some breakthrough acid even though the Prilosec is usually enough to control it.

    Bump on surgical scar

I did when I had lapband surgery. I was told it was an internal stitch that was not fully dissolved and trying to surface. It did look like a small pimple. It went away on its own, but you might call your doctor if you are concerned and it doesn't go away.
  3. I feel hunger! It is greatly reduced, and is pretty easily satisfied... but it is hunger.

    Progress!

My gosh, that is fabulous progress! You are shrinking!
  5. My favorite insulated tumbler has a straw.... and I was making my morning Protein drink pouring it into my 20 oz tumbler to take to work. It was days before it clicked that I was "drinking from a straw"! It caused me no discomfort. So basically I have been using a straw since 7 days post-op. I continue to use that tumbler for my carry-to-work morning Protein Drink.
  6. @fulloflife8650 If you have been on the liquid diet, you might have just not had enough to produce a BM today. If you actually feel constipated and haven't gone in more than one day, I would think a laxative would do the trick.

    New sleeve frustrations.

Have you tried some Lactaid tablets? Greek Yogurt and cottage cheese are so good for Protein and Calcium. I mixed canned chicken breast with some Miracle whip for really easy chicken salad, and had it for lunch or a snack almost everyday the week I progressed to soft foods. Refried Beans with salsa and cheese are great. I did good with baked Tilapia or Flounder. Deviled eggs are good.

Thank you! Health and Happiness to you as well!

    Can't do anymore protein!

Syntrax Nectars mixed with Water are much lighter and less filling than the usual Protein drinks. They come in a variety of flavors.

    Friday Motivation

Did you do 4 spin classes this week, or all in one day? I feel like that might be a typo, lol!

5 more mths before and after

You look good in both pictures, but I see a huge difference in your jawline, cheeks, and neck area. Isn't it crazy how much younger people look when they lose that weight from the face? You look great... and very happy!
  15. You say your first VSG surgery was delightful and successful for years, you lost over 100 lbs to reach goal. If the move, lifestyle changes, and depression were what contributed to some regain... cant you go back to what you were initially doing to lose the weight? What size portions are you able to eat? Have you been logging foods to make sure you are hitting your goals? It seems to me that the self professed sedentary lifestyle and letting bad eating habits creep back up might be part of the problem. I really think you have the power to turn this around and work it, and be successful again.

When Can I Start Eating Bread?

@ImprovedDreamerGirl On your info it says you are LapBand? For me bread was the one thing that made me miserable every time I attempted to eat it, even 9 years out without an empty band, bread was my enemy. It just forms a dough ball that wont go down, and sits there until it slimes up or it is puked up. I could tolerate very toasted bread, it didn't make that same dough ball.
  17. @Dischord The Syntrax Nectars fruit flavors are even better mixed with Water, and lose that thick heavy feeling. I found them much much easier to drink than the Chocolate/vanilla ones mixed with milk or RTD. I can still barely tolerate the ready-to-drink, unless it is all that is available.
  18. You need to sip more often, or bigger sips, if you are sipping all day and only drinking 4 oz of Water. Water empties much faster than food, and would come back up before it had enough pressure to stretch your sleeve. Even with post-op swelling you can work towards an ounce or two every 15 minutes. A lot of people like sugar-free popsicles as an aid to getting extra fluids.

    One month post-op..3week stall

I just had a stall for 2 weeks. I agree it is frustrating, even though I expected stalls. What are your calorie and Protein goals right now? I am 8 weeks out... so I upped my calories from 600 to 800, upped my protein to 80-100g, and increased my carbs from under 40 g daily to 50-75 g daily. It worked, and I dropped 2 lbs this week. I don't know if was switching up my diet, or if my body had just readjusted and decided to start losing again. The only thing I will drop back now is the carbs, I found increasing my carbs made me crave crap carbs, LOL. You are lower BMI, so the loss may be slower, but keep following your plan and the loss will resume.
  20. My doctor has me on the Prilosec (Omeprazole) twice a day. It works like a charm.

    Low Calorie Sweeteners

I like Stevia the best. I pretty much only use artificial sweetner in my coffee, but I don't trust or like Aspartame at all. Stevia has a little different taste to it, but I got used to it easily. I like that it is a natural sweetener.
  23. Seems like you are right on track! It seems incredibly common to hit a stall a few weeks after surgery, but the loss will resume so don't get discouraged if it happens to you. Sounds like you are doing great working to your Protein goals, it sure makes recovery easier!
  24. Congrats on your success and fabulous attitude! I love this entire post. I am going to go re-read it now : )
