    Protein Water

I get them at Drug Emporium, or a Vitamin Shoppe that is nearby. @@Kelly84 If you get a flavor you hate just dilute it some and add some Mio or Crystal light...

    Protein Water

Yes, this is some great stuff if you can handle the taste. I like the applemelon, tea, and grape.... the peach mango gags me.
  3. Egg drop soup! My husband would pick up a container from a restaurant. If you are on full liquids just make sure to puree, thin, and strain out any solids from soups.

    Did I have surgery?

So, your husband heard a doctor say this to someone else... but no one told this to you? Is there a chance he misheard? Or did the doctor tell you both that no Gastric Sleeve surgery was done? Could the doctor have meant that the lapband didnt leave any lasting damage or scar tissue, or something like that? I agree with @@Bufflehead, I would want a copy of the reports from that visit.
  5. It is difficult to predict how your recovery will be. I was off for only 5 days after my lapband removal, and took off 7 days after my Sleeve surgery. I was in no real pain, just tired. However, some people find that even 2 full weeks isn't enough time off... there is just know way of telling if you will have an easy recovery or not. Would you be able to take those 2 days off if you didn't feel ready to go back? If not, I would just wait until May.

    Protein frustration?!?

I love the Syntrax Nectars. I get the single serve packets at our Drug Emporium for $1.79.

    What would you do?

I would stay out of it. If he is remotely interested he will look into further.

    Help needed

I wasn't allowed Vitamins until 7 days post op, but I still had bad reflux the first week. I took the Omeprazole twice daily and it got rid of it. Did your surgeon put you on a PPI? I would call the office and explain your symptoms and see what they recommend.

    Protein, protein, protein!

I am a fan of the Syntrax Nectars. They are available in single serve packets too, so you can easily try them before you buy a big tub. I like the single serve packets for the portability, and keep several flavors in my desk at work.

    Four week liquid diet....

I only like the Isopure in a glass with tons of ice. They are much better very very cold and slightly diluted.

    Reflux post op

I took Omeprazole twice daily the first 3 months. You can pick this up at almost any Walmart or drugstore.
  14. It isn't really a problem, it means that you don't have much swelling left from surgery. I didn't have any problems drinking liquids from the 3rd day post-op onward.

    What Y'all Think-V

@@Inner Surfer Girl The tuna in a cup sounds great! I have only done Subway once, and I got a chopped salad... but the cup idea sounds ideal for us.

Best Blender for Puree & Shakes?

I already had a Magic Bullet, and it worked great for the puree stage.

    Crazy diets

Mega green T, Zantrax, Metabolift, Metabolife, Slimfast, Curves, Weight Watchers, Atkins, Phen-Fen (way back), Phentermine, HGC, Cabbage Soup, Grapefruit, Rasberry ketones and Green coffee Bean, Sugar Busters, etc... Crazy is that I tried it all! edited to add: When I lived on the border I went to Mexico and had Mesotherapy injections.... Lost 15 lbs doing nothing, all in my panni/gut. When the inevitable regain lbs came they brought friends.
  19. Listen to your surgeon. Once your insurance approves he might want you to lose some before surgery date.

    Four week liquid diet....

I had a week of liquid pre op, a week of clear post op, and then 2 weeks of full liquids. (Which seems pretty standard, but your protocol is also common) Variety helps, a lot. VitaminWater Zero, Crystal light, Mio, Broths, Decaf flavored teas, Syntrax Nectars have great tasting fruity Protein drink mix that is more like KoolAid and I was allowed if mixed with Water, Isopure is good diluted and over ice. chicken broth with a little taco seasoning tastes like Chicken tortilla Soup. Boil broth with carrots, onion, and celery then strain... so much better! Swanson flavored broths. It was hard pre-op, but post op you really only have head hunger for the most part. Once you get to fuller liquids it is pretty easy... the addition of pureed Soups is like heaven!
  21. What are you eating? You might try eating a little less than half a cup. I was eating about 2 to 2.5 oz of soft foods/purees at a month out. Do you weigh your foods? It might help to figure out what is a comfortable amount.

    Easter Weight Loss Challenge

179 Slowly downward... very slowly, but I will take it!
  23. From about the 3rd day post op I found it very easy to drink my Water and Protein drinks. I don't think everyone has problems drinking... it is just that the ones who do are more likely to post about it to get feedback and support.
  24. I would never voluntarily get an IV. I hate them as much as I hate having blood drawn. Water and liquids should drain through pretty fast at 2 months. Maybe you can see if you are ready to up the pace on how many sips you take and/or the size of them. I think I was easily able to drink a bottle of water in an hour by then... about 4 oz every 15 min... which coincided with my dr.'s guidelines.
  25. 179.2 Yay!! Out of the 180s... still turtling my way down to goal.
