I have literally been wearing the same pants to work for a 30+ loss. I credit the junk-in-the-trunk for keeping them up... the waist got bigger and bigger. The thighs and legs were just floating in space. The crotch was sagging. FINALLY, I lost enough booty to size out of all my pants! I went today and bought 2 pair of denim capris and 2 pair black pants... and none were plus size! I unfortunately, or luckily, still have a stack of work pants from size Yay all the way to size Nay.

OMG! Help me understand, am I sabotaging myself?
liannatx posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 1.5 lbs to Onderland... a major goal and milestone. I am 2 lbs away from HALFWAY TO GOAL !*!*!!! I have eaten horribly for 2 days. Horribly. My home life is my bright spot, but my job is a flippin nightmare this year. I take portioned healthy stuff to work, but it goes South. I was gifted a small home baked banana Nut Bread loaf, and ate a slice. Given a gift bag with chocolates and ate 2... I don't even like sweets. The lounge has donuts and coffee cake, I did resist that. Husband made pizza, I ate the toppings off of 2 slices. Next day, I got home and hubby made Fajitas. I would normally just eat the meat with some peppers/onions, ate half a tortilla with it. And had 2 Oreos after. I am usually never even tempted by that crap. My "I don't give a EF level" has been at 10 all day. All week. I want perspective. I have never yet been let down on my choice or slow (but steady) results. Am I throwing myself into a funk because I am close to goal and the possible failure that is associated to that in the past? Or am I just having a crappy week? -

@padremama Is it complacency? I don't do that normally. -
When did people notice your weight loss?
liannatx replied to newbeginnings1965's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What @@Bufflehead just said! I could wear my same clothes during about the first 30lbs lost. They went from tight, to fitting, to finally just too big. When I truly sized out of my pants and finally got some that fit everyone started commenting. -
excitement and motivation....gone.
liannatx replied to glitterpockets's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@glitterpockets I understand the frustration of having to jump through all the hoops and lose the motivation. Like someone else said, it will come around soon and looking back at this time will be a distant memory. Keep reading this board, research good recipes for all stages, start having a Protein drink for Breakfast now, do all that you can to prepare for the eventual surgery and positive life change. I know many people that stopped drinking cokes months ahead of time, there are things that you can do to keep this an active process and keep the motivation up! @cbrr It is wise to not try to do the main meal at your house. At one week out you will definitely not want to prepare the main meal... you wouldn't even be able to taste stuff to correct seasonings! You probably don't want to sit and sip broth and watch everyone eat the meal either. Stay home and heal, and remember that by Christmas you will be fully healed and up to the celebration, and probably 20-30lbs (or more) lighter and healthier feeling! -
I had a terrible taste in my mouth and bad breath for the first few weeks. It did go away once I starting getting more liquids and calories in... like others mentioned I think it is related to being in such a deep state of ketosis. @kranky813 A sore throat and acid taste is possibly from stomach acid overproduction, which is very common post op. Are you on Omeprazole or an acid reducer? You should definitely mention this to your doctor.

Never in my life did I think I would share this!
liannatx replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats! That is a major milestone, and it is great to see it bring you so much well earned Joy! I am losing at a turtle pace, but like you I am thrilled with the journey and would do it over again 100X! -
How much water can you drink?
liannatx replied to aaronvt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Water goes through much faster than food, but I was told to keep it to about 3-4 oz spread out over 15 minutes. That seems to be about how much my stomach could hold with liquids, and just about the rate it emptied.... so I can easily sip/drink a bottle of water in an hour, and have been able to since about 1 week pre-op. -
Tommorow is the big day
liannatx replied to byebyefat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Will be sending prayers. The first few days can be tough, just remember that after the 2nd or 3rd day every single day gets easier! Walk walk walk and sip sip sip! -
I was on purees at 3 weeks. I didn't have Sushi until about 4 months out, and like the other ladies I was able to eat 2 pieces. I picked about half the rice off it, but it was still delicious.

Yes it is normal! I only threw up a handful of times the first month or two, and those were when I tried new foods (meats) that my stomach was not used to digesting anymore. I would think that throwing up often after eating would be something to be concerned about.... but NOT throwing up should be looked at a sign that you are healing well and that your body is very tolerant to the amounts and types of foods you are ingesting!

chicken salad was my saving grace during purees. Canned chicken breast makes it very moist and easy to make. I still eat it often for lunch. Other favorites I recall enjoying: cottage cheese, Refried Beans with salsa and a little grated sharp cheddar cheese. Soft scrambled egg, even better with some salsa and cheese. Ricotta cheese with marinara or spaghetti sauce. Light n Fit Greek yogurt packs a lot of Protein for the calories. Tuna salad w just tuna, mayo, relish, boiled egg and fork mashed to puree. I was allowed Tilapia during pureed stage. Soft cooked cauliflower mashed with some fat-free cream cheese and bacon bits (mock stuffed potato), Turkey chili pureed is very good, .

I am in! I will break into Onederland during this challenge!!!! Start 202 Goal 192

I would just try the warm lemon Water. There are many many articles on the benefits of drinking a warm glass of water with lemon squeezed in it first thing in the morning. I drink my ice water with lemon in it all the time, it is a good Vitamin C boost and tastes fresh to me!

Embarrassing question for Isopure protein drink users......
liannatx replied to Whitney1968's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! I don't remember that, but I only drank the bottles of Tea diluted by half. It is very plausible, I recall how grape KoolAid can make you poop green. -
Lap Band to Gastric Sleeve Revision Surgery 6/24/2015
liannatx replied to Seattle51's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am a revision also. My band also went horribly bad, slipping and causing massive amounts of scar tissue. I am glad that you are feeling so good and that they were able to do a revision for you. The first month or two are the hardest for sure. I find that at 6 months I can pretty much eat normal healthy meals, just in smaller portions. I do still start my day with a Protein drink. I hope you continue to do so well, I know it has been a good decision for me too! -
Some of my favorites that are easy and I usually have ingredients on hand: Cottage cheese with salsa. chicken salad with sliced cucumbers. Turkey breast deli meat and cheese roll ups. Light & Fit Greek yogurt with some trail mix or Grape nuts on top. Tuna salad.

Anyone else having surgery at a young age?
liannatx replied to MickeyMax95's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not in my 20s, but I wish I had done this in my 20s. Good Luck, you will very happy about this! -
I take all of my Multi's and supplements so I don't worry too much about it. I do know that my diet and my body are 100 times healthier than they were pre-op. Last night I had steak and 4 asparagus spears. If I have chicken salad for lunch, I eat it with sliced cucumbers instead of crackers. I love bell pepper strips to dip Hummus. I incorporate what veggies I can. At this stage only being able to eat 3-4 oz at time, I don't know if it would be possible to get all the required nutrients and Protein without my Vitamins and Protein Drink anyway. The first months when I was only able to eat 2oz per meal I focused purely on protein. Literally. I would eat some fajita meat, 2 shrimp, a piece of tilapia, etc... because that was all I had room for. Now that I can eat a little more I have noticed that I am able to eat more variety and feel like I am establishing what will be the new normal for the rest of my life.

I used Bio Oil. They fade to almost nothing over time anyhow.

Still have a habit of ordering a million things to eat
liannatx replied to wagyu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I rarely even order anymore. Servings are so big, my husband just gives me stuff off of his plate. A shrimp, a scallop, a bite or two of fish and a bite or two of the side and I am done. Sometimes I get an appetizer and we share with each other. We spend about half what we used to when we go out to dinner now, lol. -
Good Luck! What are you auditioning for?
