  1. Glad you are doing good! I also felt like my Sleeve was easier recovery than the band... maybe I just knew what to expect. When do you progress to full liquids? I remember that being such a relief... to have thin Soups and yogurt! The liquids get old fast.

    Going back to work

Good luck, make it a great day : )

    How soon after surgery...

I went back to work full time on day 7 post op. There is no way to predict if you will have a super easy recovery... but it seems like tiredness is the biggest issue by the end of that first week.
  4. Water drains through pretty fast, even with pre-op swelling. IMO, 1 ounce per hour is not enough.... What did your surgeon advise?
  5. I still eat spicy foods. The only real problem is not being able to drink anything with a meal, I have found that I tend to avoid foods that are so hot that you need something cold to drink with it...

What can I do with...cottage cheese?

Salt, pepper, and some Picante sauce... I love it like this, and got the idea because I also like it with chopped tomatoes, salt n pepper. If I want something sweet I will add a little squirt of strawberry Mio and a pack of Stevia. Cottage cheese is also good topped with Spaghetti Sauce and warmed in the microwave.

Is Your Love Life on Hold While You Lose Weight?

Well I have had my second half for 23 years... so the dating part isn't applicable for me! I can say that in real life everyday situations people are NOW: dieting, losing weight, working out, lactose intolerant, gluten free, Vegan, Vegetarian, Paleo, Low Carb, etc... so it is a normal thing. If you don't know someone well enough to divulge your surgery, then don't mention it. By about 2 months you will be able to sit with a wisely chosen plate of food and pick at it, and eat the protein and no one would be the wiser. No explanation will be necessary. People pay FAR LESS attention to what you are eating than you might think. If you really do get questioned, it is very simple to say you "had a late lunch" or whatever... there is no need to feel like you are lying or hiding something from someone you don't know that well.

    Torani vs extracts

In a round-about way, Yes! I don't really buy the Torani. I like the Folgers Vanilla drops for my coffee, so it is always on hand. It makes any Protein drink a little more flavorful too. I have been known to add a squirt of strawberry Kiwi MIO (or whatever flavor I have around) and pack of Stevia to my cottage cheese. I found some Dasani (bottle Water brand) drops in pineapple Coconut and add them to a Vanilla Protein Drink, also yummy when added to my water : ) Decaf instant coffee is also good if you use a Vanilla Protein powder. Another good and easy one, for when you are on liquids... add a little taco seasoning to chicken broth! Tastes like the broth from Chicken tortilla soup!
  10. I wish I had just done revision when my band first failed! I had success with the band, losing 85 lbs and having 2-3 great years maintaining under 150 lbs... A slip and I spent 2 years of fills, unfills, fills followed by emergency unfills (twice), and finally a total unfill and empty band for 4 years. I gradually gained back every pound and then some... I would have had the revision at the first slip if I could do it differently.

Will power dont fail me now

Ouch! That does make it more difficult. I would do a meat and cheese tray, a veggie tray, some deviled eggs.... lol, my poor guests would be wondering where all the sweets and junk were!

    Enlarged pouch & small slip

I am surprised they did a fill with a slip! My doctor did an almost complete unfill to see if it would right itself... but that was the beginning of my band issues. It did right itself, and when I started getting fills again it totally slipped... resulting in a complete unfill. I had the older 4cc band though... and once I started having complications it was never good for me again after that. I don't think the BMI qualifications are the same on a revision as on the original surgery.

    Isagenix

There are much less expensive options out there. Isn't this sold as MLM?
  14. About 40 minutes, according to my DH, from when they took into surgery until they told him I was in the recovery room... . My good friend was in and out in 25 minutes.
  15. I gained from the bottom up, and am losing from the top down. I think for me it is a "last on, first off" type thing, lol. I am actually losing it fairly proportionally, but tend to carry more weight in butt belly and thighs until I get closer to a healthy weight... which again were the first places I gained noticeable amounts.

    Mysteriously Easy So Far.

Perfectly normal for some. I was back at work on day 7, and also posting here asking if something was wrong because I could so easily drink my water! We all recover and heal differently...

    Protein Powder

I love the Fruit flavors and the Cappuccing flavor of Syntrax Nectars, and they are better mixed with Water than they are with milk.

I haven't been this sick in years

Drink plenty of fluids and get extra rest.. Hope you shake this off fast.
  21. I already had a Magic Bullet, and it worked great for full liquids and purees.
  22. Following! I am curious about this. I am not as worried about the core muscles as the extra skin (panni). But I do believe that tightening the underlying abs will help it all look better.
  23. I will send you a prayer on the 1st! I think everyone has a some fear of the anesthesia... even though it is pretty much an irrational fear. Once you get past the first week or two post op, you will not regret this! I am much happier with the sleeve than I ever was with the band. Did you already have the band removed, or are they doing the revision at the same time?
