What happens if you do not drink enough water? or the 64ozs required? I feel like I am drinking all day long. I'm still in the sipping stage.....:speechless:

Went for my 1 week post-op visit today and we discussed water in group. That is exactly what everyone said...your weight loss will stall. Good information to know....I will keep on sipping.......Does anyone else have a support group with their doctor or surgery center? Mine is sooo great. We all joined the local College exercise program and was able to register under the special rate of $50.00 a semester and we all go after group on Wednesdays and several other times a week. We also do many other activities together including our doctor. He has been very supportive and active in all of his patients. I truly believe that is what is going to make a difference in being successful.

Just Curious...Post Op Depression/Anxiety
seajules replied to CandiOPanda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Scruffy............I have been on antidepressants since 1984:smile2: and have had some pretty huge ups and downs, Loss of my first husband and daughter back in1983 and 1986, but have been blessed with a new husband and 2 great kids. My only explanation is faith, wonderful family support and the belief that my weight problems cause my depression and not the other way around. I can't explain why I am doing so well off my meds I just thank the good lord above and hope that it continues. Support has got to be the number one way to make all of this work. Keep your support close and go to support meetings when ever you can. My doctor hosts a support group every Wednesday and I rearranged my work schedule to make sure I am there. This program has to be one of the top priorities in my life. Please keep coming back to LBT and keep talking. You can e-mail me anytime....sea.jules@comcast.net. The more people I speak to the better for me toooo. Hang in there. -
Questions for all that have been banded or are in the process
seajules replied to 88Shelly88's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi from TX. I have been through a 4 year battle with my insurance. I have seen multiple doctors and have had them write letters directly to the insurance company as well as to my Husbands work. I have demonstrated a long history of dieting, exercise, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, joint pain and a BMI ranging from 35 - 40. Nothing worked. In the mean time I was saving like crazy and finally went self pay. I am very happy to have had the procedure and just don't care about how much it was. I know it will take along time to repay my loan, but I just can't put a price on the benefits of having this surgery. I am very very happy and it has only been one week since surgery. wishing you the best. -
Best Liquid Meal Replacement/Protein Shakes
seajules replied to Evilah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I started on Optifast 2 weeks prior to surgery. It was recommended by my doctor. I am also a diabetic and have done very well with it. I am off all of my diabetic oral meds and my regular sliding scale insulin. The only thing I take now is a long acting insulin: Lantus. I am down from 70U to 40U every night. I really like Optifast too. I never heard of Injury, Isopure (clear), or Muscle Milk??? -
Okay, I'm new here too!!

Hi and welcome... I am still asking those questions too. I am sure it is different for everyone, but My doctor told me that you may or may not have loose skin depending on your weight loss and how fast you loose. Keeping a journal of all your questions and keep asking them especially to your doctor. I believe it is going to be OK.............I feel great and it's only been 1 week. Best wishes and good luck ! -

Just Curious...Post Op Depression/Anxiety
seajules replied to CandiOPanda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can certainly relate to the feelings of depression and anxiety. I was on Wellbutrin and Paxil (for 15 years) prior to surgery. I stopped most of my meds because I was afraid they were going to get stuck. I went through a lot of anxiety, but I have to say that I seem to be over-coming it. As the weight is coming off the depression and anxiety is going away. I hope this works for you too. Good luck and best wishes:happy: -
I was a self pay and all together was 13,000. My doctor needed payment in full prior to surgery. Even though it was a lot I am very happy I got the surgery. It has been 20 years of yoyo diets. I have already lost more than I ever did in 20 years.
