I don't feel any restriction yet either but I don't think you feel that til you're healed and off this liquid phase.

6 months out... What's your progress?
Lemm61 replied to teshadb's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well done all! So great for those of us just starting out to read about your success. I'm 10 days post op. I think when you start the process there is always that fear that you'll be the one person that the WLS won't work. -
Yes I've had back pain, really shoulder pain from the laparoscopic air. About post op day 4 it was gone.

@@jess9395 Thanks for correcting me!

It's a slider food. Makes your pouch feel full and then you may not be able to get the required protein and fluids in.
-
It was a no for me too. SF Popsicles in a variety of flavors have been the best this past week.
-
I wake up a lot when I'm trying to sleep. I'm a mover in my sleep which is not great post op. I'll change positions and wake myself up from the twinge of pain.

The gas is no joke. So painful. Walk as much as you can and keep a heating pad or hot pack on constantly. I'm now one week post op from RNY and the gas didn't leave my chest and shoulders til the 4th day.

I didn't have a drain.

Rumor has Costco is the test store for Premier Protein Shake's new flavor: caramel. Has anyone seen it there?

Since I'm only allowed to sip and I have to get 64 oz of fluid in, timing it works best for me. It also reminds me to walk which has really helped move all the gas out and prevents post op blood clots. -

I feel good. Pain is tolerable, no need for pain meds now. No nausea. Getting the protein and fluids in is really a full time job. But that's what this time off work is for: to let my body heal and figure out the rhythm of this new way of nutrition. I set my phone timer for every 15 minutes, get up and walk and drink. So far, so good. -

I had GB on 6/1. I didn't have a drain. -
Today was a good day. Walking and sipping. Zero nausea and the gas pains are much better.

Good luck to everyone having surgery next week. I'm glad to be on the other side now!

What to get before surgery
Lemm61 replied to melbell2222's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am post op as of Wed. Definitely get heating pad. I'm using it right now to try to relieve the trapped gas in my left chest and shoulder. SF Popsicles have been so good. I set my timer on my phone for 15 minutes. I get up and walk and drink 2 medicine cups of fluid. -
I'm home. I feel like I've been run over with a truck but I'm glad to be home. I've got a lot shoulder pain from the trapped air still and it's hard get comfortable. Sipping and walking though.

Feeling much better today. Able to keep clear liquid down.Home tomorrow!

Hi everyone. Had my surgery. It was rough night. Lots of vomiting and pain. Doctor is having me stay another day. I have been up walking today and I'm much less nauseas.
