    Post op pain meds

@mander64, I think I was on the pain meds for at least 5 days, then switched to tylenol. Like you, I seemed to hurt more with each new day. Probably because I was moving around more each day. Hang in there, you will feel better soon...I promise:-)

    Stalls/workouts

Like @@jenn1 wrote, are you hitting your Protein goal of 60-80grams? And yes, I weigh and track everything in My Fitness Pal, that seems to help me. Esp. during the stalls. Are you getting in at least 64oz Water? If you use the search function and look for InnerSurferGirl, she has amazing suggestions and reasons for stalls. 55lbs is a lot to loose in six weeks, I agree, your body does need to catch up and heal. Your doing great, keep up the good work!
  3. You are in inspiration, and you look amazing! Your smile says it all! Congratulations!

    Today's the day!

@@KristenLe, hope you can go home today and the nausea has subsided some. Been thinking of you!

    Water

I get between 70-90oz per day. I finally puchased a Camelbak and it made drinking Water so much easier! I now have 3 of them and it goes everywhere I go.
  7. Like @@Bufflehead, I tried a few times and it just doesn't agree with me.

    First goal accomplished!

That's amazing, keep it up and you will reach your goals. I think it's smart to have short term goals rather than one large one. Congratulations!
  9. I agree with you, there is a lot of sights to find information other than Reddit:-) Sometimes it's best to just put away all the research material and stay off the forums for a few days. Concentrate on all the positive aspects of WLS and why you are doing it in the first place. Take a deep breath and slow down, you have a lot of time. Stop freaking yourself out:-) As for the worst symptom post op, mine was gas pains in my shoulders and chest immediately after surgery. Other than that, it was uneventful and I don't regret any of the experience for even a second.

    2016 Fall TV Season

Yes, "The Walking Dead," new season starts this Sunday. I did try "American Horry Story" last night, couldn't do it...the pig heads scared me too much.:-)
  11. Your doing an amazing job, I have no doubt you will loose the last 50-60lbs in no time! Congratulations!

    Feeling weak

I felt week during my pre surgery liquid diet as well, luckily mine only had to be for 12 days. I do believe it was from my body detoxing off of carbs and caffeine. The weakness got so bad I did call my bariatric team and they wanted me to add a few apples and fresh raw veggies to the diet up until two days before surgery. It may help to give them a call on Monday to let them know. Make sure to stay hydrated, I know it's hard!

    Noodles

Pasta is one of my go-to emotional binge foods. Penne pasta with roasted garlic, olive oil, red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese...then a pint of Mediterranean Mint Gelato. These two foods were my best friends for years. Curling up with both of these on a Friday night in front of the T.V. Sadly, I began planning for this moment a day ahead. Going to the grocery store to purchase them was almost as good as eating them. I did try to introduce pasta back into my life at about 6 months, I thought I could handle "just a little bit." It was a slippery slope, I found myself craving it, plus other carbs like bread right away. I haven't had any since. It's just too hard for me to do in moderation.

    BE kind granola

As an occasional treat I will add 1/3 cup of the high Protein Kind granola to my greek yogurt. I make sure it fits into my days carb allowance. I am 8 months out and didn't add granola until around 7 months.

    Not losing

You've lost 9 pounds in 11 days! You are still healing and getting rid of fluids from the surgery. Take a deep breath, keep following your surgeon's guidlines and time frame between the different food phases. It comes off, I promise, some slower than others depending on the amount you have to loose. The best advice I received during the post op healing was to ignore what others have lost and put the scale away for one week. You are doing great, keep up the good work!
  17. I over packed, should have taken as little as possible. All I really needed was clothes to go home in, toothbrush, chapstick, hairband and my own slippers.

    2016 Fall TV Season

Just got an email from Netflix notifying me that the "Detectorists" season 2 is finally here. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. It's an adorable British series about a group of friends in a small village that love metal detecting. Made me want to get one and start hunting!

    2016 Fall TV Season

I love Chelsea Handler's new talk show on Netflix, new episodes every Wed, Thurs and Friday. I really like "Better Things" as well, she was so good in "Louie."

    Twinkie Twit

I agree with @@Havasumoma, being sweet is the opposite of the reaction they want from you. When you get home and she comes outside to try and taunt you just give her the biggest smile you can and a really enthusiastic wave and show her the beautiful person you are. This will really p*** her off!
  21. The pre op liquid diet is primarily for shrinking the liver so the surgeon has a safer and easier way to get to your stomach. I lost 13lbs, but was not given an amount to loose by the surgeon. I am not sure if there is a "typical" amount, but I think 10lbs is pretty amazing! Hang in there, you are doing great!

    Laxative question

With my surgeons okay, I began a daily routine of a stool softner, Benefiber every night and a product called Natural Calm, if I stick to the routine the constipation is under control. Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you.
  23. I agree with @@OKCPirate, start with thrift stores, second hand or whatever your town offers. I have become a regular customer of Goodwill, in fact, that is my new addiction! I have found so many good, barely worn brands of clothing. Everything from Coldwater Creek, Old Navy to Chico's and more! It's an inexpensive way to move through ever changing sizes. I have never paid more than $4.99 for anything, and it's a good day when you find something you like and the tag corresponds to the color that is 50% off for that day!
  24. I wish someone told me about the awful pain I would feel in my chest and shoulders when I woke up from sugery. It scared me so much I was sure I was having a heart attack. The pain is caused by the air they have to pump into the stomach during the surgery in order to see through the scope. If you do wake with this pain, at least you will know what it is. The best thing you can do is to be mobile as soon as you can. Walk to the bathroom, sit up in the chair often and walk up and down the hospital halls. Walk, walk and walk some more.
