Addicted to My 600 pound life.
Montana Gal replied to Redmaxx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you watch it on T.V. it put's a distance between oneself and those on the show. You see non compliance in others, but not yourself. When it's pointed out in real life, it's taken personal....I hope I made sense When I say "you," I mean all of us in general...... @@Babbs, your before and after pictures are beautiful! -
Weight Gain After Sleeve?
Montana Gal replied to kaypitre5's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
There is NO DOUBT in my mind that it is possible to gain the weight back and more after WLS. At almost 11 months post op I have noticed that my hunger is returning and my restriction is less. As @@Babbs stated, it takes constant diligence and hard work. I let my guard down for 1 week at the beginning of this month. I stopped logging on MFP and ate what I wanted, when I wanted it...I gained 3 pounds. If I continued to do this, it is entirely possible to gain 5+ pounds per month. That is 60+ pounds back in a years time. I will not let my guard down again, I have 25 more pounds before I reach my first goal of 106 pounds lost. I spent one hour with my counselor yesterday coming up with a plan for what to do If I feel like I am letting my guard down again(or sabotaging myself). -
Exercise after surgery. ALSO puree foods not filling me up
Montana Gal replied to kc13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with @@theantichick, double check with your surgical team about the Protein shakes and let them know about the hunger. Since you are on pureed food, maybe start using a soft protein like fish pureed with mayo or moistened chicken pureed with broth or mayo. If you aren't allowed to supplement with protein shakes, I am not sure what else you can do. Check to make sure that they might allow unflavored Protein powder in Greek yogurt, ect....good luck. -

Use the search function and look for "Embrace the Stall." There is a lot of good posts, especially from InnerSurferGirl that might help. -
Can't shake the feeling that I will stop losing weight any minute...and I am 2 weeks post op today!
Montana Gal replied to Snoozy33's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so sorry for your loss. When your company leaves and everything calms down, you will get back on track and begin to loose weight again. I agree with the above post, give yourself a break and grieve the loss of your mother. -
Appt all set up for my Pre-Op program!
Montana Gal replied to laurak814's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If it were my decision, I would have it done in the spring. I had my surgery in February, and was glad I could get some weight off by spring and good weather. Sounds like a busy time in your house, maybe you could ask a friend to take your son to a couple of meets during your first post op week. I didn't have any help when I got home from the hospital and did fine, but I also don't have children. Best of luck with your decision, you will do great! -

2weeks out...what did you eat?
Montana Gal replied to AC3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From what I remember I was on soft food at 2 weeks(after 10 days full liquids). I ate scrambled eggs with cheese, greek yogurt, cottage cheese and of course my Protein shake. Pretty boring, but it worked for me. -
So good to see you again @@LisaMergs! What a feast your family has, sounds amazing. Our tradition for Christmas eve is fondue using peanut oil..we foundue steak, breaded cauliflower, mushrooms and tempura shrimp. The evening started out with oyster stew. I ate a little of everything:-) Glad to see you healthy and happy

@@Gucci & @AnnaDmom3 you both are doing great! Everyone is SO different when it comes to how long it takes to drink fluids/soups after surgery. Both of your bodies are adjusting and balancing out after surgery. If you follow your bariatric team's post op plan, before you know it the pounds will start to fall off. Best wishes to both of you.

Hiking part of the Virginia section of the Appalachian trail with my dog is on my bucket list! So far I can only do day hikes. As soon as the snow is gone and I am down 24 more pounds I will start training for longer and with a weighted pack! I don't really have any tips to pass on because I am learning, just wanted to wish you many great adventures!

Congratulations, that's amazing!

Congratulations, you have done an amazing job. It's been inspiring to watch your progress, you look great! -
One day I was feeling lousy and complaining to my mother as to how I felt my weight loss was too slow. We were in Walmart, she took me to the baking isle and lined up (7) 10 pound bags of sugar in a row. Just looking at what I used to carry on my body put everything in perspective for me that day!
