    WLS and Eating Disorders

I agree with you Inner Surfer Girl, she was condescending and a bit mean spirited, especially when it came to WLS forums. I noticed she spoke in an even tone throughout the video, but raised her voice and changed tone when saying the word "fail or failure". She had a few good tips like finding a mindful eating forum, ect. I could tell right away that she isn't a big supporter of WLS in general.

    Looking for Breakfast Ideas

Breakfast is a hard one for me too. I found an unflavored Protein powder(Designer Whey) 1 scoop of that into 1/4 cup almond milk, and 2 Tbsp. of PB2. The peanut flavored one is not sweet to me so I usually add one packet of a substitute sugar and 3 ice cubes then blend away. It's a nice change. The fact that it isn't very sweet might appeal to you in the morning. P.S., you can find PB2 in the healthfood section of most grocery stores, Walmart and Target.(you might already know this:-)

    ex husband frustration

I believe NJ is a 50/50 state, so he needs to be more respectful. You are entitled to 1/2 of property. I agree with @@jane13, @GiibsGirl and @CowgirlJane. Take a video camera and a friend when dividing the material stuff and also document, document, document every interaction. I am so sorry you are going through this. Hoping you will find a way to find some peace and balance in your life! Keep coming back to this forum.

    Surgeon Contact

My bariatric team was wonderful, but so busy! It seems like I was the one that always had to keep in contact with them. I saw my surgeon three times before, the first initial consult, the pre op visit then a few minutes before the actual surgery. I received the information about the surgery first at the educational seminar, then more detailed information about diet guidelines ect., at the pre op visit. No, I don't think you are expecting too much too early. June 1st isn't very far away, if you haven't heard from and are becoming anxious...definitely give them a call. Good luck to you and welcome!

    Five weeks post-op

I know it's hard to make the changes and stick to the plan, but you can do this. Everyone is so different when it comes to how much and how fast they loose the weight. The one thing I stopped doing was comparing my weight loss to others. I am a few weeks away from the 3 month mark and it has been slow for me as well. One week I will loose 7 pounds the next nothing, even gaining a few along the way. I stick to the plan and get in all my required nutrients. In the weeks I feel it is too slow or gain I sometimes up my Protein and Water requirements, even up my calories a little the bam, the weight comes off. Keep up the good work, it's hard but so worth it!
  8. You look amazing, glad you had such a good time!
  9. I too became overwhelmed, frustrated and somewhat depressed during the waiting period as well. I decided to close the book on the my research and sit back to take a look at my life as if I were an outsider. I increased my therapy to once a week and tackled the reasons why I turned to food in the first place. After about a month off I was ready to begin again, refreshed and excited. I think sometimes we can research something so much that it begins to scare us. After surgery you will be amazed at the new perspective you will have. I felt as if a "light switch" was turned on, I can't explain well in words. Hang in there, take a deep breath...you can do this!

    15 days out: Issues

#1 Yes, it is very normal to stall, 22 pounds is a lot of weight loss. Your body is catching up and healing #2 I never used Isopure powder, only the clear liquid Isopure. I usually used pre mixed Premiere Protein or an unflavored Protein Powder in almond milk. But I am sure someone else on this forum has used the powder. #3 & #4 It depends on your surgeons quidelines. I was on full liquids from day 9 to 14. Check the info they gave you, if you have been allowed to advance to soft then yes, scrambled eggs and well cooked fish are okay. Keep up the good work, stick to your plan. Stay hydrated, keep positive and allow your body time and you will do great!

    GOOD MORNING

Have fun on your cruise, you look beautiful!!
  17. I agree with @@JamieLogical, you aren't going to need much. I brought way too much with me for the hotel stay and found that all I could ingest until I got home was Water and herbal tea. My room had a fridge, I believe it was a Hilton. As far as the Lidocaine goes for your I.V., I didn't have to ask they just used it. Make sure to request it and let them know you are a hard stick and they will make the effort to keep you comfortable.

    New guy!

Welcome Mike, please keep coming back and know you are not alone in this!
  20. It's hard to not have the support of family or friends, I am sorry for that. But, this is your journey and you can do this. If he is trying to sabatoge your efforts, he might be scared of the changes he sees in you...talk to him. You cheated on your pre op diet, don't do it again. Today is a new day, grab a sugar free popsicle or Jello when the sweet tooth hits. This is a good time to seek out counseling if you don't already have it. You can do this, it's hard I know, but well worth it! Keep coming back to this forum, it's an amazing and supportive community. I wish you the best of luck.
  21. You have a beautiful voice! I wish you well on the 27th, you will do great.
  22. Like @@JamieLogical, I didn't go down in clothing size until I hit around 35 pounds lost. My pre op diet was strict as well with a long two weeks of liquids afterwards. Pre op I lost 13 pounds and only about 7 pounds the first two weeks post op. It's hard to know what to say about your uniform. Good luck on your life changing journey!
  23. I agree with everyone's responses...look into therapy, go back to the basics and find healthy alternatives to the sweets. That said, you look amazing! You are young, strong and intelligent...no more negative thoughts!

    Regrets?

My only regret, like others, is not doing it sooner. I only told my mother and my close friend who took care of my dog while in the hospital. As for dinner parties and other invites, the one thing I have realized is that no one is watching what I am eating. They are enjoying themselves and their food!
  25. Good morning, I am so sorry you are having a rough time. I understand and you are not alone. I thought I was 100% prepared as well. Since I have had laproscopic surgery before, I thought I would not be surprised by the pain. I was wrong, it hurt a lot worse than expected. I had to take the pain medication for at least 6-7 days. It's okay to rest and doze, your body needs this. There is plenty of time to become active, but right now you just need to heal. Give it a little longer, I promise you will feel better. Call your surgeon's office if you feel the pain is not decreasing, keep in contact with them. Stay hydrated and rest.
