What do you eat after 8 weeks?

I will be 6 weeks on Thursday and so far so good. I do make my priority to eat the Protein first, sometimes I don't finish the protein because I am full already. Usually I eat chicken (I prefer dark meat because is tender), deli ham, deli turkey, cheese, ground beef, shredded beef, eggs. Also, you know what has been really good for me, sashimi, I eat 3 slices of the salmon only (no rice) dip it in soy souce and it's so goooood! But all these are recommendation from my NUT which I have been following to the T. Thankfully I haven't vomited or had dumping yet. But I do notice when I have ate too much (an extra spoon when I shouldn't), I need to walk walk walk. You will find interesting what you crave and you don't longer crave. Also, I drink a lot of Water, and very rarely I drink juice or hot tea. Good luck in your journey ???? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    ¡Hola, amigos!

Hola a todos! Mi nombre es Yana, soy de Venezuela y vivo en Virginia. Me hice la manga gastrica el 15 de septiembre del 2016. Estoy muy contenta y satisfecha con mi decisión. Saludos. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  3. Hmmm I think it depends on the food, and maybe my mood, somedays I can enjoy the flavor, other days, it's just blah... I don't think it makes sense, but that's just me. Like today I had the center of a sunny side up egg (trying to get my Protein in) and it taste so goood. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
  4. Yeah- my plan does say broccoli florets... i guess its better to have them cooked so they are softer.... what are you having Protein wise? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Hey, sorry it took me so long to reply. Well, about protein, I really struggle to meet my goal, because I hate the rtd milkshakes. I am tired of them, all the vanilla flavor taste too sweet for me now and I can't stand it. I eat a lot of Beans soup (red kidney, split peas), however, since I don't eat that much, I don't really get a lot of protein from it. I eat also chicken that was cooked with soup because it keeps it moisted and the nurse practitioner advised me to eat it that way... I eat scramble eggs with cheese and milk. Also, I drink close to one cup of milk, for some reason, I enjoy it cold and in the morning, specially after taking my multivitamin. I am buying a milk from kroger called carb master and has 11 grams of protein... also I eat half of a low fat cheese stick, like sharp cheddar. All these were tips that the nurse practitioner gave me during my 2 week post op. Next Thursday I will see her again for my 4 weeks post op. I hope the info was helpful. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App I also bought WEIGHTLOSS SURGERY COOKBOOK FOR DUMMIES... it's really helpful.... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App That's funny, I thought about getting one the other day hahahaha. I think I need it lol. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Let's talk about vitamins

I do take separate Vitamins as I can't swallow big pills (even before the surgery I will gag with the prenatal when I was pregnant). I am taking a Multivitamin from walgreens that the nurse practitioner at my Dr's office recommend me, they are super tiny and easy to swallow. I have a b12 that is sublingual and tastes like cherry, I take d3, and recently got a liquid calcium. I was taking citracal petite, but they were still huge for me. I tried the Flintstone and the celebrate multivitamin and didn't like the chalky taste/feeling. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    2wk post op pain

Thank you for creating this thread. I had my gastric sleeve done on 09.15 and sometimes I feel like a pain in my lower left ab. I think it's because I am overdoing it (i have been walking a lot, and I went back to work last week), or having an extra teaspoon of food. Other than that I do feel great. 11. I can completely relate about the eggs, today finally I had a scrambled egg ( I was able to get only few spoons in) and thankfully it sit good in my tummy and I loved every second of it. I added cheese and milk to it (as I am struggling to meet my Protein goal, I am so tired of the rtd shakes). Taste was awesome!! My surgery was on 09.15.2016. Vitamins

How does the liquid calcium citrate tastes? I am taking the citracal petite and I literally choke everytime I try to swallow them. I am looking for other options available to get my calcium in. I am 2 weeks post op and I am good swallowing the small tablets. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Is tis true...

It depends on the surgeon. I did have one, but the nurse took it out before I went home. It did hurt while she was pulling it out. It's like a weird feeling. However, she told me to breath in before then breath out while she was pulling it and I think that made a huge difference and helped a lot. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App
