I was looking if anyone can tell me which approved frozen meals you all eat when too busy to cook. I am recommitting to diet and am waiting for a rerun cal from my nutritionist. In the mean time I thought I would come back to this community and they back to using my tool properly! Thanks for any suggestions of approved and favorite frozen meals!

Was there a pivotal moment that made you say I’m doing this?

I wanted to take my kids kayaking and my son didn’t want to go. He said I was too fat and he was afraid i would sink in the boat. 🤦🏽♀️ I finally realized how fat I had gotten. And I wanted to be a healthier example to my daughter. -
I'm day 2 post op and at home. Got home late. Just took my pain meds as nausea meds. I can't get comfortable at all. Last 2 days I've slept maybe a total of 3 hours. Now I'm sitting in the dark with all kinds of pain. Pain breathing (at the diaphragm, nothing I'm worried about) pain of my ABD and pain in my back most of all. I have a bad back but this is pain all over, especially my lower back. I'm not use to it. Ugh! Just needed to see if anyone else had this issue as well. I'm miserable tonight.

I'm down 26.2 pounds. I actually went back and forth this week. Not sure if it's my scale, but it hasn't moved past this 26.2 pounds yet. -
Right now I'm 5 days post op. Still having some pain. I want to know when you guys started to really work out more. I've been walking around the house but nothing too major at all.

What prompted you to get surgery?

I was very athletic growing up. Volleyball, softball, beach volleyball. All day everyday. I played coed flag football in my mid to late 20's. During a football game I tore my ACL. From there it went down hill. I had surgery. Out of work 3 months. Even back to work I used a cane and my brace (I'm a nurse I looked stupid!) I had plantar fasciitis bad on both feet but mostly my right. After I went back to work I got pregnant right away with twins. Ended up in bed rest for 7 weeks and they were still born early at 32 weeks. Gained more weight. Was exhausted caring for twins and ate a lot. Gained weight. Tore my other ACL but opted against surgery for now because the doctor said that knee looks so bad on MRI it will probably need replacing. He thought it was injured longer before my ACL test. Had a baby girl and lost from breast feeding. Still heavy but was able to do a Warrior Dash with my girlfriends. But not enough. Gained it all back plus the minute I stopped breast feeding. Decided that I wanted to hike the JOHN MUIR trail alone or with girlfriends as a girl empowering trip. Started to work with a personal trainer to lose weight, tore my meniscus in the knee with the original ACL tear and meniscus tear. Had to repair that one for sure. Down for 8 weeks and gained more back. That was summer 2014. I asked my sons this summer if they wanted to go kayaking with me. They are 8 years old. My one son told me he was too afraid to go with me because he figures I'm too fat for the boat and the boat would sink. That killed me. I failed at my goals to hike the trail and now my kids don't want to kayak with me because I'm too fat. That was my last straw. I needed to do it not just for me but to do the fun amazing things with my sons and daughter!! I wanted my life back. I'm tired all the time. Joints hurt. I miss sports! I miss hitting a home run, spiking a volleyball, diving in the sand. I feel the mountains calling me to hike them. To get in touch with myself. To prove to myself I can do what I set my mind to. I want to be a strong woman for my daughter and my niece. So now I am 1.5 weeks post op. I'm 20lbs down and my sons told me I'm already looking skinner. (The one who was afraid I'd sink the boat said it!! ) made me so happy!! -
Does anyone else feel the things they swallow go through the stomach?

I'm still on liquid diet. I have been taking my meds crushed with sugar free pudding. There are times , even with my shakes and water that I feel that I can feel it going through. Some of it causes me pain. My next part is a soft diet. I will be 2 weeks out Thursday. I tried a bit of scrambled egg today, just because after 4 weeks of liquids (pre diet included) I wanted something a bit more food like. Now even though I chewed it well I felt it. It hurt. Now it feels like it is sitting in there. I'm regretting the bite!! Don't do it!!! I'm 20lbs down now from the beginning of the month. 10 lbs down before. 10 lbs down since surgery 1.5 weeks ago. My twin sons told me today I'm looking skinner. Can't screw this up! -
DaisyAmy. Next on my list of things is seeing what is wrong with my neck. I was rough on my body playing sports when I was younger. I hear it crackling all the time. Maybe just arthritis but other than what I do, I need to see if there is anything else available to make me pain free as possible.

I'm staying on top of my meds now. I have oxycodone. It's almost not my stomach as much as my back. I have chronic back pain and haven't taken my normal meds since Weds. I took all my pain meds and was knocked out for maybe an hour. Just so nervous about all of this. Managing these things in the next 3 weeks. I got children's Tylenol but I think it's too sweet and made me sick last night. So I am actually crushing my Tylenol. Gross but the sweet sickly taste isn't making me sick. I got inspired because I am tired of my chronic pain. I use to be an athlete and this weight gain started when I tore my ACL and broke my leg playing co-Ed football. I loved volleyball and softball. I want to inspire my kids to be physically the best they can. Especially my daughter. I want to be around a long time for them and enjoy hiking and sports more. Thanks everyone for your support. I'll probably be knocked out here in about 5 mins. ????

Anyone getting sleeved in January?

I am Jan 14th!!! -
Hello! I'm now 13 days until my surgery. I'm a 39 y/o mom of twin boys and a baby girl. I'm also a wife to a great guy and a bone marrow/oncology nurse. I started gaining weight in 2006 when I tore my ACL and meniscus playing football on a co-Ed team. I was very active but that year I had plantar fasciitis very bad, and then tore my year. I had surgery and pretty much right after I got pregnant with my twins. Ended up in bed rest at 26 weeks and had them at 32 weeks. Stressful eating took over in top of all the weight I gained being immobile and then bed rest. I think had issues with my daughter once I had her. A year after her I tore my other ACL. This time no repair. Dr said there is so much arthritis and other issues he will need to replace my whole knee later on. (Which they remove the ACL I guess) my leg is very unstable. I started to work with a personal trainer to lose weight. I life sports so being in pain and inactive sucks. I ended up re-tearing my meniscus again. That required surgery and while I was at it, I got my plantar fasciitis taken care of. 2 surgeries 1 week apart. Gained more weight. Finally so tired of this and not keeping up with my kids, I decided to have surgery. I have chronic pain and I think the weight has made it even worse. I now have sleep apnea as well as increased BP. I'm excited to move forward in this journey. Have my life back. I use to be cute and skinny. (And I thought I was fat then!!! If I only knew what it really was!!) I want my kids and my daughter especially to be healthy and have their mom do fun things with them. I'm hoping in honor of my 40th birthday, to do a backpacking trip without this weight on me in California. So here's to getting me there! Other than that I love books, movies and music. I'm a fan girl! Love Harry Potter, Star Wars, Avengers, all the things nerds love!! ???? I love music. I went to 8 concerts last summer, ending in traveling to the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington to see Dave Matthews Band for the 3rd year in a row there. I love sports, volleyball, baseball, football, basketball, hiking, kayaking. Can't wait to get back to that again!!
