    Resolution of IBS

Thank you for the question. I was just about to ask the same question. Today is an IBS day- and wondering if WLS would help or hurt it. I appreciate all the responses. It looks like mixed bag.

  4. Thank you for posting your journey. Every different perspective helps those that have not had the surgery yet.
  5. Hi Valeria1982, I am in the same boat. I am waiting for the phone call that I am approved. Everything was done by Jan 13, and I still do not have confirmation on a date. My surgeon has me on a pre-surgery diet of 1200 calories. I do use FP to track and make certain I am getting enough Protein. Goal is at least 100 g. of protein a day- prior to surgery. It is so hard waiting. I had a glass of wine tonight. While it is not officially on the diet, it is within my calorie intake- and needed something as a treat for the long wait...
  6. I am trying different ways ways to use the unflavored Protein powder. When I tried to put it in sugar free hot chocolate, it did not dissolve. It got hard and lumpy. Any suggestion on how to put powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury in hot liquid? I expect to need to do this after surgery.
  7. During my pre-op journey, I started going to a therapist to figure out why I have allowed myself to get into this situation. ( over 100 lbs over weight with many medical conditions) I have been diagnosed with both PTSD and Compulsive eating disorder. Wondering if there are many peeps out there like me? I believe the surgery will not work for me without therapy. I have been going weekly for 5 months. The connection between the " why" is important to me. Anyone in the same boat? I would love to hear from you.

    Holy Naseua!

I am still waiting for surgery. Do you feel much pain?
  9. Mega 100, If you have insurance, you want to stay in network. When there is not a financial issue, it will be much easier to go as long as you need. I made inquires to a few different therapist. Don't settle for one that you are not comfortable with. I have talked to therapist in the past that made me feel worse about myself. That is not what anyone needs. I opted for a therapist that specialized in eating disorder and trauma. I also wanted a female as many of my issues are difficult to talk about in the first place. Good Luck
  10. I found my therapist through my insurance company's network. They list specialties for the therapists in the network. I am blessed to find someone that is female and deals with both PTSD and Compulsive Easting disorders. I am pre- surgery ( still waiting) but this work has been extremely beneficial. I hope you are able to find what you need. The Head stuff- definately goes with the body stuff in my case.

    Waiting patiently ....

Hi Shelly7, Just saw your post and thought- I am Impatient. Everything has been done. I thought my dr had submitted my file to insurance for pre-authorization. I found out today that the dr office does not submit to insurance for approval until the end of the month prior to the tentative surgery date. I am in a holding pattern. Started this whole process in Sept... I am so ready... Plus I am on the pre-surgery diet.. I am on the pre- surgery diet.. Feeling hungry all the time.. I want to get on with my new life style- this limbo is hard...

Hi, I am new to the site. I have gone through most of the pre-surgery requirements. Last pre op appt is 1/5. After that Dr will submit to insurance for approval. I am excited and scared. I know I want to do this, but scared for the unknown and afraid I may fail once again. Any advice> Your insight is greatly appreciated Marie

Thanks to all that replied. I appreciate your insight. I started watching some of the u-tube video's and they have helped me. I know everyone will have a different experience. On 1/5 I have my final required appointments before the doctor submits for pre-authorization. I expect to have a surgery date late January or Feburary. I am so ready.
