Im on day12 post op not working currently took the time off to do this. im a local driver so what I plan to do might not work for you if your otr. I plan on bringing 2 shakes and packing cooler with my small meals for each day to munch on while I work. now as for otr al li can suggest is bring Protein powder,( a small black n decker food processor im still on pureed food) as long as you have a mini fridge to store foods in as you said you have the cooker some glad containers to store foods you prep sleep your hours get up mix your meals make em easy to grab or eat from so to minimize down time for meals. and that's about all you can do pack as much as you can for how long your gone if its 30 days be sure to pack an extra weeks of supplies ie vitamins etc. for weather purposes/breakdowns. I know Walmart sells pureed meals in cans 5 servings per can each meal is 3 oz. check on stuff like that.

Just got sleeved last night! My experience
Scott Myself replied to sirensong511's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I recommend getting checked out once you get back to the us as when I woke up there was no coughing up blood. that's a warning sign something isn't right is what my staff told me here in Rhode island -

Tomorrow is the DAY-What to bring?

I was told to wear the clothes I was going to go home in.so think possible weather wise it being very cold. it is January after all. as loose as possible for clothing. cpap machine my hospital allowed me to shower on day 2 after my surgery. they should have antibacterial soap and such for you to use. but deodorant bring it with also tooth brush and tooth paste. that was all I brought with me. -
Confused over Post-op Vitamin regimen
Scott Myself replied to ironpoorer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my hospital gave me all the meds I needed for the first month so let me tell you what I got. note there generic pharmacy versions Centrum chew tabs for multivitamin, calcium 500 + d chewable tablets, Vitamin b12 1,000 mcg tab 1x per week hope it helps you note you cannot take the calcium and multivitamin at same time mult has Iron in it and they will cancel each other out I was told so you must do calcium 3x and wait 2 hours then eat a multivitamin 2 hour window allows calcium to dissolve so the receptors will absorb the iron -
I had my sleeve surgery the same day dec 28th my surd hydration was more important than protein for the first week. today was the first day I was able to drink an entire pint of water from a bottle took me 2.5 hours and I felt a little bloated afterwards but it went in. as for protein intake I just finished the first Protein shake I started when I came home. just sip an oz at a time till you can handle more and it does get to be more have you tried any other forms of protein besides shakes? last night I made a can of cambells chicken noodle soup ran it thru a strainer and drank the broth was able tout down 6 oz it tasted so good after being on a water only diet. my kids ate the noodles and chicken. I also found that walking helped me a lot as to gas and taking more food

Any 12/21/15 sleevers: How are you doing?
Scott Myself replied to mabarbee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
what mixes have you found that help tolerate the capsules we have to break open and the nasty tasting meds we must take. I'm still in my first 7 days so I'm still liquids only and having difficulty taking the actigall and stool softener as they taste horrible even trying holding my nose. I have tried chocolate Protein Powder and milk. I have tried water and actigall. I have tried crystal light lemonade and actigall all tasted nasty except the crystal light because I mixed to much with the actigall and ended up with 6 oz. to try drinking to get it all so it was to much for my poor small stomach. so what have you others tried and what have you found to work -

December 28 surgery update
Scott Myself replied to Craig Wildi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i still haven't found a solution for the ursodiol; aka actigall capsules. I tried water yesterday with the powder tasted nasty and smelled worse. tried chocolate premire protein powder this morning again tasted nasty. both times tasted so bad I spit it out. tonight I tried crystal light lemonade mixed one capsule with 6 oz. of lemonade then took the 6 shots felt nauseous for about an hr but went down diluted enough to take it. have to try a smaller amount of crystal light tomorrow. if anyone knows of a clear fluid we are allowed to drink that can be mixed with the powder from this needed capsule. that doesn't taste completely horrible please let me know in a private message so I'm not hijacking someone else's forum thank you -

I was told it's ok if you cant handle all the protein supplement just drink water instead as long as you stay hydrated that is most important is what the staff told me for first 7 days. also since i came home yesterday I have also had bad gas build up and find that walking helps to get it out of you -
Gastric bypass over sleeve
Scott Myself replied to Good apple's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went with the sleeve due to my conditions example I have type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure/ high blood cholesterol. since the sleeve has been known to have a higher success rate at reversion type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and cholesterol I went with the sleeve over the by pass. you have to look at the pro's and cons of all the procedure options before making your choice and your surgeon will also give you a recommendation based on your personal condition as to what's best for you. -

same surgery date and time as myself. here in Rhode island. they kept me and extra day in the hospital due to nausea issues with the provided Protein powder they brought me to drink. again same issues for the most part with the gas coming in quick painful out of the blue waves so far. but my biggest challenge now seems to be finding something and some way to mix the capsules insides I have to take with protein milk or water etc. so it goes down and doesn't taste horrible. latest try was my omeprazole for acid reflux. I mixed it in a 1 oz. cup with my already mixed protein milk. it went down left an after taste but took refilling the cup 4 more times to get all the omeprazole in me and not stuck in the cup. the next item I get to try day one walking at home by the way is the actigal capsule in 15 minutes.
