Hi, I am checking in not so see how you are doing on your Bariatic front. But on the emotional front. I know after last Sunday and the loss of 49 of our family, I have been all over the emotional map. Mostly just hurting, not being able to run to food for comfort, is just making it that more difficult to deal with. Just wanted you all to know, I am thinking about all of you and hope you are all coping, as best as possible and taking care of your selves.

Morning men, I was not given a specific amount to loose. My Dr, just told me to stick with the diet he gave me and I would do find. I did what I was told, I did not want an open procedure. It was mostly to shrink the liver to give him more access during surgery. No, carbs, no sugar, less work for the liver to do. I only have one cup of coffee in the morning anymore. I have not had a fancy coffee from the barista since two weeks before surgery, had one this morning, holly crap did I get buzzed this morning, on my way to work. Got a quad, breve with sugar free raspberry. ....could not finish it, will save the rest for the drive home. Not sure I like the taste of milk either. May have to try soy, or almond milk. That is my road trip drink, so will have to find something else, for the weekend of the 4th of July. haolenate: shaved...yuck....at least you will still be a Bear...us hair less "chubs", not sure where I will fit after I get to my goal, but not too worried about it, like the Bear mentality better than the rest....more accepting.

Welcome Mr. Sean, You can do this! Have they given you a specific diet to follow? Do you have a surgery date? Mine was Protein shakes for breakfast and lunch. Lean meat 4-6 oz for dinner with some vegies unlimited. I at a lot of little cucumbers from Costco, because they were nice and crunchy. I was important for me just to hang on to that surgery date as my goal. This is not the easy but it works. Hang in there!

10 days out doing well. Have not weighted since Thursday, on a trip in the motor home. Going to do some fishing, will have to freeze them, for later. Not that I like trout all that well. Water has not been a problem, protein is tuff w/o doing a lot of protein powder. Have been getting creative with avocados and baby food meat, and seasoning. Used to munching myself to death while traveling and spending time at my folks. Doing a lot of popsicles, closest thing to crunchy, I can get. Hope all are doing well!

4 days post-op and doing well. Actually hate to say it, don't want to jinx it. Not up to max hydration yet but at min. Off pain meds, since this morning. Plugging on along ahead, today was tuff, but was pulled through it. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

Hope you are recovering well to day Kyle! I got my surgery date today! It is scheduled for May 18th. They want me to start on the pre-surgery diet on Monday, when I get back from my work trip. That will make it a month, of that before surgery. Little scared and excited all at the same time. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

I am hanging, waiting. I have the insurance approval, just waiting for one piece of paper from the Neurologist. Then we can actually set the surgery date. I can see, the sticking with the soft stuff. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

Hello, welcome. 42 days how is it going? Are you up to real food yet?
-
Kyle, you are in a tuff spot. The smoking has actually not been too bad, I have gained back the 8 pounds I lost last month, but doing better each day. On a very happy note, the insurance called yesterday and I have been approved. Just one more paper from the Neurologist, and we can set a date. Hang in there Kyle and everyone !! Welcome Kyle, Finally got my stuff submitted to the insurance, last week. I got a little short with the doctors office. They will not do surgery if you smoke! So, I quit on the first, told them right now is not a good time to be making my life difficult, just a tad short tempered.

Welcome, John Keep us up to date, I know it helps me to get mentally prepared, as you guys share stuff. Thanks, Billie

Welcome, Sean, Finished Thursday with the last of my prerequisites. Now to submit to insurance. Now the real waiting starts, shooting fo the end of April, first of May.
-
Welcome Chris, I am still doing pre-requisites for insurance, Nutritionists done, physic, evaluation done, blood work done, EKG was done, but now they want a stress test, then a Endo scope, and they can submit to insurance. Shooting for end of April, 3 weeks after planned family vacation. This has been a roller coaster of emotions and have a ways to go yet, but trudging along. There is a lot useful practical guy stuff in the "guys room".

Hello, I fall into this group, just joined today. First Dr. appointment in 20 days. Scared and excited at the same time. Had to switch insurances, so I could do this, going to go for the sleeve. Name is Bill, or mostly known by Billie
