I met with the financial counselor last week. My insurance requires me to do 6 months on a medically supervised weightloss program, I was kind of bummed but now not so much because I have 6 months to save for my out of pocket.

Yea, I was legit sad when they told me I had to wait 6 months. Like you said @Sleevedin16 I'm going to use the 6 months to mentally and physically prepare myself for surgery.

what insurance do you have by the way? I have Health Net and thru the clinic that I participate they also had me do a 6 month wait. I actually am finishing up the 6 month this month. I meet back on Jan 28th. It does go super fast. I have been waiting and waiting but looking back now I was able to complete some of the required steps during this time. I will soon be getting my psych appt and Ekg and upper GI appt all scheduled once I return. I then will be referred to the surgeon. I am eagerly waiting. I am more ready now then ever before. Hang in there...goes fast.

I have insurance through Optima health. I have my first meeting on the 28th of this month. I wish you the best of luck @oceangirlpc
