    New and have questions

Hi good luck with your surgery! I was able to drive after 3 days and as long as I was off the pain killer med. which I was when I got home from the hospital. I was back to work after 1 week. I was just very tired but that goes away, by 2 weeks I was feeling normal again and ready to do some exercise besides walking but my dr said to wait 4 weeks. I'm 5 months post op , 68 pounds down and feeling fabulous!! I work out everyday whether it's the gym hiking or Zumba . Loss skin is there and I don't think I can do much about it, I'm 53 and have gained and loss a few times, my daughters skin looks much better then mine but she is 27 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. My boyfriend will order an entrée and I'll order an app . Usually I'll get shrimp and eat 3 then he has the rest, then I'll eat some of his veggies. It's just easier this way, I don't have to pack up leftovers and it saves us money .. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Patch MD Issue

I've been taking the patches since November 2015. All my vitamin levels are within range. I only had one stick badly enough that a layer of skin came off. It was placed on my upper chest. I haven't used that spot since and have had no problems. I just put some aloe on it each day till it healed. I place them on the back of my shoulder now.

    My 2 biggest fears

My hair fell out in what seemed like chunks.. But not one person noticed. I only had one comment and that was "did you get a new straightener? Your hair looks silky smooth" I'll take that comment! I take Biotin 10000 once a day , I have a lot of regrowth happening now, I'm going into my 6th month post op so it's been slowing down. The loose skin makes me nervous too especially at my age (54) . I moisturize like crazy and recently started to think about compression wraps. People say they work (not on extreme cases) so I may try it..but really the excitement of dropping all this weight have far outweighed the worry of loose skin Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

The forums are getting out of control

I love it here, makes me feel I'm not alone and really helps listening to other people's experiences... As for the drama.. I find it entertaining and when I don't I just click out of it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Milk of magnesia was what I had to take in the beginning. Once I could start swallowing pills, he told me to take duralax, I also add a Fiber powder to my Water and yogurt everyday. It helps Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  19. I went with the hernia surgery. Months prior to surgery I started talking a lot about having to go on a health kick, eat right, stop smoking and no alcohol.. I started drinking my Protein shakes at work , soon after other co workers were doing the same thing, they wanted to get healthy. When I had my surgery, no one really noticed anything different. I had said prior to the surgery that I won't be going out to lunch because I know I have no willpower and would eat too much or fattening foods. Now they don't even ask me to go out to eat, they know I bring my lunch or go home and that I'm really trying to stay healthy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Ooooo I can't wait for your results, if it works even slightly I'll be throwing all my $100 creams in the garbage (that haven't done shit) and run to the nearest drugstore for the $5 roid cream!! And congrats on the weight loss , either way, keep the beard , I find them sexy !! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Leading up to my death?

Only positive thoughts and excitement for the future is what I focused on. My oldest daughter knows my wishes and what to do if anything ever happened to me. But I taught her that the day she turned 18. She is 29 now. I wouldn't want anyone thinking it could be the last time they see me. Instead we said I love you like any other day and see you in a few hours. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Alcohol

Glass of wine one month out on Christmas , I only drank half of it. I've had about 3 half glasses of wine since. I really don't go out anymore so no desire to drink . Doctor told me you can have a drink but be very careful as it hits you quicker. And that it does !! I went from smoking and drinking to going to the gym instead or go on a hike. I feel 100% better ! And really don't miss it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
