My weight loss story

Looking fabulous!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
No regrets at all, I'm loving my new life and feel so much more confident then ever before. I'm 52 years old and really wish I did it sooner, but I am very happy and very happy for my future ! I have some food issues and constipation issues and can never seem to get enough Water in the day, but the way I look and feel definitely out way those issues . I'm 8 months post op and still learning, I'm not perfect, but I definitely wasn't perfect before WLS. I'm still learning what I can and cannot eat and I try like heck to get to the 64oz of water a day. Sometimes I do sometimes I don't . Most importantly I follow my Drs orders and get my Protein in and workout each and every day. The rest will fall into place. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@@GeekyChicLa Are you getting the sleeve also? Monday-Friday I have my food pretty much prepared and on hand while I'm at work, I'm pretty much routine during the week. On the weekends there has been times when I forget to eat or have to remember to eat because I'm running around like a crazy person. I've learned to carry a Protein bar with me for those times. The only food that gave me trouble was beef and broccoli from a Chinese restaurant, I will never eat it again. I believe it was just too tuff and I didn't chew it well enough. I was in pain for a few hours even after it came back up. I have had no problem with spicy foods, I don't eat a lot of it but when I have there where no issues. My advice on alcohol is to make that one drink last the evening. Just taking sips here and there it goes right to my head. I woke with one hangover since my surgery and it was not fun at all. That was on 2 and half glasses of wine. I remember one of my first posts on this site was me asking how to get enough Water in each day when all I can do is sip sip sip. Someone told me to take a gulp , go ahead it won't hurt me. Sure enough it didn't hurt me lol and I was able to get my water in for the day (I even drink throu a straw ) So a lot is trial and error, take a taste and see how you do. You will find what works and what doesn't. Also things are just very different now, things that I thought I were really going to miss or that I couldn't have anymore are really not a big deal, Food just doesn't excite me anymore, I much rather fix a huge meal for a lot of people and watch them enjoy it. @@GeekyChicLa Thank you. Did you have surgery yet? You will get there !! Its really nice to be out socially now but now I have to be aware of temptation. One glass of wine and I'm looped , also have to walk away from the picking. It's very scary for me to think I can slip back into bad habits so easily . Good luck to you and hope you are back auditioning real soon ! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Which Food Did (Or Will) You Miss the Most?
cdsjjotn replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
I miss eating Pasta. Even though I don't crave it anymore, I miss eating my homemade pasta with my family at gatherings. I usually just eat a meatball and little salad and call it a day Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Former smoker/cravings/pre-op
cdsjjotn replied to 8petals's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Former smoker here! I tried quitting several times with different aids and each time failed, the day before my surgery I quit cold turkey mostly due to fear. I didn't want any complications I don't handle sick well. I didn't miss it in the beginning due to the healing part it kept me busy just thinking about my Protein and Water intake each day . I'm now 8 months post op and less then 20 pounds to goal. I miss it a lot and think about that inhale a lot. But my life has completely changed, I'm not as social any more so I'm not around smokers anymore, I'm so busy with my home, grandkids, and my workouts that my mind stays off the urge for the most part. Also I was able to buy all new clothes with all the money I save now ($280 a month) !! Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
