Very nervous!! Luckily my gym has a cinema room that's dark, so I would go right in there and go on the elliptical then leave after 30 minutes. That lasted awhile till the weight started to fall off me then I just ventured out of the cinema room one day and started using weights. Now I spend 2 hours at the gym a day and joined some great classes, everyone was always nice to me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

The multivitamin patch and blood test results!
cdsjjotn replied to Cervidae's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I too am a dedicated user of the Vitamin patch. I have not used anything else. I do take an extra B12 but have always been on the low side all my life. I've had my blood work done 3 times since post op and all are within range. So easy to use and no worries having to take pills !! Love my patch ❤️ . Congratulations to you @@Cervidae on you surgiversary! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Low energy after sleeve surgery
cdsjjotn replied to Qwalla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My low energy was due to low B12. That was the 3 month mark when I had my lab work done. At 2 weeks you are still recovering from surgery, rest helps and yes you will start to feel more energetic the more you heal Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Thank you so much for all the info , I really appreciate your feedback. I really am scared to death to do this but on the other hand I want it so bad! I'm thinking right after the holidays , then all be able to wear tank tops next summer and not long sleeve shirts Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@@Djmohr Your arms look amazing!! I have lose skin problems on my thighs stomach and arms. Nothing bothers me more then my arms, it's driving me crazy. And if I decide to get surgery that's the first thing and the only part of my body I'll do. I told myself I will wait 6 months after I get to goal. I'm 15 pounds away so I'm figuring I will be doing this sometime within a year. I am trying to wait and see a difference weight training will make. But I've been at it for 6 months and still waiting for the extra skin to tighten up. So my question is, how soon did you wait after your surgery before you decided on your brachioplasty? What Gets You Going for Your Workout?
cdsjjotn replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Classes. I absolutely love them. Power, Zumba, groove, active, and centergy. I go right from work so by the time I get home I am stress free and feeling great! My gym also has a movie theater cardio room, time passes very quickly while I watch a movie and I get to work out in the dark , so no one is watching me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

How soon did you go back to work?
cdsjjotn replied to fancypants67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I took one week off (the doctor made me) . I also have a desk job but am able to get up and walk when need to. I just remember being tired at the end of the day for the first week. By the second week back I was back to feeling my normal self. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
For the past month I've been joining the different classes my gym offers. Twice a week I do power classes which is strength training with the use of weights and barbell. Once a week I take an active class which is cardio and strength combined. Two to three times a week is Zumba or grove both dance cardio and once to twice a week a centergy which is yoga, strength, core and balance. All awesome classes. I also hike, swim, walk, and elliptical when I'm not at classes. I would have never done or could do this a year ago. This journey is just amazing to me. I still look in the mirror and think "who are you" then say to myself , wow you are one hot grandma ! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

HW 272 SW 252 CW 169 GW 150 I am 8 months post op and 19 pounds away from goal and a "normal" BMI. I've been very excited lately with my changes and have been coming out socially more then ever. My life since the sleeve has been work, gym, walk and home. I would host dinner parties occasionally but only for close family and friends. I have recently been accepting invites to parties and outings because the shame is gone. I now can hold my head up and feel comfortable where ever I go. It really feels good to feel normal Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@@piemonade I look back now and could kick myself in the butt for not doing it sooner in life and/or not sticking to a diet. I'm 52 years old and I'm the healthiest I've been in over 30 years.. Crazy when you think of it. You had your surgery a week ago? First couple of weeks are rough but you need to heal, after you are on solid foods it's smooth sailing. Good luck to you! I started the process in 2013, my insurance wanted me to lose 15% of my weight back then, I couldn't do it, I was so close just a few pounds to go. I remember just breaking down sobbing when I got weighed and I was at the deadline and got denied. It is so hard, and the only advice I can give it to change your habits some how. My problem was parties, get togethers, and eating out. I had to stop all that in order to change. Luckily in2015 my insurance changed and I got approved real fast, my surgeon got me in as quick as possible before my insurance changed again. I'm 8 months post op now , have lost over 84 pounds and is 16 pounds from my goal of 150. Do whatever you need to do to get your surgery date, I thank god for my sleeve, I'm really living life now, it's so worth the struggle, good luck! And keep us posted ! 17 pounds to my goal of 150, seems like it's taking forever!! I had two parties to attend to over the weekend. I've made it the norm to decline most parties because I'm weak and have little willpower, however these parties were two very close friends so I had to attend. Yep I was weak , when it comes to Desserts that is. food at both parties were no problem, both served grilled chicken and salad . But why can't I stay away from high sugar food!! Ugh!! Granted I don't eat desserts like I used to, now I just picked at it, but it still went in my mouth and tasted like heaven! It's Monday now and back to my usual routine and exercise, grateful there are no parties coming up until September Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Advice from ex smokers?
cdsjjotn replied to cassandramarie93's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Quit several times during the year before my surgery, as my date got closer I just said that's it no more. It's been 9 months now. I could probably pick a cigarette up and smoke it with no problem but I really don't ever want to go back there. I did have to quit coffee and alcohol too at the same time. I started working out a lot too. Smoking and exercise don't really go together.. Good luck, you got this, it's so worth it!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Raw Oysters & Sashimi
cdsjjotn replied to LowBMISleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't consider them soft foods. It's too early on. Sorry. On a good note, I eat shellfish all the time, no problems with my sleeve , raw and broiled, but I'm 8 months post op. Be patient , good things will come Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Well..... decision made!
cdsjjotn replied to olliesoda's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't feel my personality changed but definitely my outlook on life has changed. I used to be a eat drink and be merry type of person. Always had a glass of wine (or 2) with dinner and weekend cocktails and basically ate whatever I wanted. I'm 8 months post op now and don't eat whatever because I have to make sure I get my Protein in. As for the alcohol, on a rare occasion I will have 1 glass of wine that I will sip on for the evening if I'm at a special occasion party. I once was forgetful and drank 3 glasses within a shorter period of time and the hangover was so unpleasant I will never do it again, it's not worth it. I was very nervous before surgery about my life changing, and reassured my friends it was just for a few months while healing then I'll be able to go out again and enjoy a few cocktails. Truth is, I don't want to go back to that life, I am so much happier in my healthier lifestyle now. I have lost 84 pounds and have so much energy now that I'm enjoying life in so many different healthier ways. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
