How about some NSVs!?!?
cdsjjotn replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So excited today! I ran on the treadmill today for the first time in my life!! I was scared of falling and my butt cheeks felt like they were going to fall off, but I did it!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
@@jenn1 Thank you so much ! I did it today! I did it!! I'm so excited! It took me 30 minutes at the gym to get the courage up, but once I got on the treadmill I was determined. I warmed up for 5 minutes then ran 1 minute walked 1 1/2 minutes and so on for 25 minutes, and I didn't fall!! I even let go of the rail a few times. It felt great and I can't wait to do it again! Although my butt cheeks did feel like they were going to fall off, and I wondered what they looked like as I was running Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When I started this journey I did 30 min elliptical everyday and 30 min weights 3x a week. Now I hike, take yoga, Pilates, power classes, dance and Zumba classes. I'm usually at the gym hour and half to two hours a day. I also walk walk walk I just make sure I keep moving, even with the desk job I have. I am soon to start running (huge fear of mine) because I want to run in my first marathon in 2017! Just try different things and hopefully you will find something you really enjoy . @@ShelterDog64 Exactly!! I don't trust my body either, I keep telling myself my knee is going to give out, ugh, I'm getting on that treadmill tonight starting walk 1 minute, jog 1 minute, walk 1 minute, run 1 minutes and so on for 30 minutes, hoping this will eliminate my fear after this . I'll be using those handles too Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@@WLSResources/ClothingExch Thanks for the info, I'll look into that club. I know we have a boot camp club in our area but haven't heard of the road runners, sounds perfect for me! @@jackieemac I never thought I would even consider trying to run, but it's been on my mind now for a while now and I feel the need to try something new ! I started with the flex. It was under $100 on Amazon. It has steps, weight, exercise, sleep , and tracks food and calories. It's not a watch. I set reminders every 2 hours in which it vibrates to remind me to move Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Who is choosing to keep surgery a secret?
cdsjjotn replied to Kila Rass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've only told close friends and family, mainly because I don't want the attention, questions, and comments that go along with the surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I'm struggling with muscle loss.
cdsjjotn replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I agree with djmohr, add more Protein, I take in at least 100g especially on strength training days. I've noticed the more weight I add the stronger I get too, I push myself to the limit till I just can't do one more rep. You'll get there too, it takes time to get your strength back. We also live in an old farmhouse, it's 103 years old and we just got done renovation a year ago, now we are working on the out buildings. This year my boyfriend shot his buck from the front porch in his pjs and slippers. The summer sausage is to die for! As for squirrel, it's nothing but a pesky rodent to me. I will pretty much try anything but not squirrel yuk! Does it taste like chicken? [emoji239][emoji883]

A bit of a shock and a hard lesson
cdsjjotn replied to LittleBill's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have the same problem on the weekends. During the week I eat at 8,10,12,2 &6. But on the weekend when I'm running around like a crazy person I tend to forget to eat! Before I know it it's late in the afternoon and I am very irritable [emoji16]. I now keep quest bars in my car, in my purse and in my gym bag -
