Reward for meeting weight loss goal
cdsjjotn replied to Hazel_eyez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely buying a whole new closet of clothes!! I wore baggy clothes and leggings while losing and saving up my cash. When I got to goal it was so rewarding to get rid of everything in my closet and buy all new ! Now my goal to is run in a 5k in June , I started running recently, after that I'm planning a vacation, somewhere warm Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I wanna know about carbs... Seriously!
cdsjjotn replied to KindaFamiliar's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am over a year out and in maintenance. I do about 100g of Protein a day. While I was losing I kept my carbs under 50g now I keep them under 100g, anywhere from 50 to 80 usually . I've added healthy carbs in only, fruit , veggies , and Peanut Butter. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Smoking, drinking and food!
cdsjjotn replied to julia454's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy hour fridays , dinner and drinks out Saturday and company over on Sunday with wine and Snacks, BBQ s , parties, etc.. that was pretty much my life over a year ago. My life for the past year: I joined a gym , I take all sorts of different classes, when I'm not at the gym I will walk and walk and walk. My house is always spotless and when I'm not cleaning, I'm reading or coloring in my adult coloring books. I also enjoy walking around the malls , trying on tons of new clothes. It's not easy, I still think about smoking every day, not so much food anymore, and although I am in touch with my old "party friends " I now hang out with my fit and healthy friends. Now that I am at goal, I want to challenge myself more. I work out every day. 3 days a week I weight lift, everyday walk, bike or elliptical. I also do yoga and Zumba at least once a week. I would like to start running or at least jogging. I've always been scared and paranoid that my knees will give out and I'll fall. I haven't ran since I was a teenager in gym class, I'm now 53. Any suggestions on how to start and get over my paranoia of falling? I really would like to eventually run in a marathon at least once in my lifetime. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What Was Your Biggest Post-Op Surprise?
cdsjjotn replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love to cook! And cook a lot for many people, and it doesn't bother me at all. For example I'll cook a tray of breaded Italian chicken cutlets with mashed potatoes and veg and salad. I bake one cutlet with no breadcrumbs for myself with the veggies. I'll also make my own Pasta and not eat a bite, I'll have a meatball with side salad instead. Idk why but I love cooking now and the more the better, I think it's because it keeps me busy and makes everyone happy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

CW 148 GW 140 I just started running so I've been using the couch to 5k app. I'd like to run in a 5k by June . I also need to up my Water, I struggled with water from day one over a year ago, I'd like to get over the 64 oz a day, especially on my 2 hour workout days Other then that, I pretty much still stick to my dr guidelines of Protein first and keep my carb intake low. -

cdsjjotn replied to vannababyy22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One romaine leaf. I fill it with a couple of slices of turkey or tuna, that's my lunch. I always make a salad with dinner but can only eat a few bites after my Protein. I'm over a year post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Fortunately I've never been asked that question and I'm over a year out. But I think I would say, "I loved it! But I'm just so full". It's the truth Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I love shopping now. Never did before!
cdsjjotn replied to The New Kel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love shopping too! It felt wonderful to get rid of all those big clothes and to be able to fill my closet with cute clothes that I wished I could've fit in for 30+ years. Trying on clothes now is a hobby of mine. I've never tried on anything in the past because I hated to look in the mirror at myself. Now I love it and can spend hours going from store to store and trying on such cute stuff! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I love shopping too!
