Try Special K protein water instead of snacking before a meal. do you smoke pot? that could be the problem too, if you have the munchies.

Well i did think about it. i read another post where that person usually gave it two weeks after a fill, because it will be tight then loosen, then tighten again but she said usually at two weeks she's good. Well last night i was able to eat bread even (toasted of course) and today i was able to eat a little chicken salad with not sticking so i'm just giving it a little more time. I appreciate the thought tho and believe me, I am not ruling out an unfill. If it tightens back up or I can't eat solid proteins, I will definitely go in.

and it is miserable. i tried to eat a mozzarella stick when i was at the bar on saturday. totally got stuck and then i got the slime thing where you just keep producing a crapload of saliva but it won't go down so you have to puke it up. i had to go to the bathroom 5 times and it was pretty embarrassing. i have a 10cc band too but i always seem to have to be on liquids and mushies for awhile after a fill. i guess we're all different when it comes to how our bodies will tolerate things...

i wonder how you even eat with 6.9cc in your band. i've been at 5cc since my fill on 5/21 and can only eat mushies. but i see you've lost 40 lbs. that is awesome. i think it's because you are working out too. i need to do that, i think the weight would come off a lot faster. I totally fight the sugar thing. love it more than real food and am completely addicted to it. i think i'll try phase one too as i really loved the south beach diet. did you find it hard to eat real food for the first two weeks after a fill or did you recover faster?

Gonna break down and get an UNfill...

Has anyone else experienced real restriction a week from their 3rd fill or at 5cc's of Fluid? I have one of the smaller bands and wasn't sure if this was normal. I tried to have lebanese food tonight, falafel, hummus and egg salad earlier, everything got stuck. That hurts too, I never thought about what "not being able" to eat a food would actually feel like physically. Any thoughts? I'm so glad to talk to others going thru the same stuff. I always tell anyone in the waiting area at the dr.'s office about this site  -
Banded on 2/6/08 and looking for banded friends!
Brooke replied to Lily76's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
my best friend was banded on Halloween and she suggested buying a baby spoon for when you get to mushies stage. I was expressing the same concern to her as you were..that either I would vomit or I would get something obstructed. I've heard pineapple juice will help you get unstuck if that ever happens. I was banded on 2/5 and haven't had many issues with drinking my full cup size portions but I do try to take it slow and end up feeling very full after my meal. Slowly slowly slowly is the way to go.... Good luck and keep me posted! -
OMG you poor thing. i am such a baby i don't know if i could have survived that. I'm so glad to hear he found the cause of your obstruction. Hang in there!

I am three days out from surgery and am feeling awesome. Even had enough energy and stamina to go to sewing class last night. the only side effect I've experienced is GAS:ohmy:..and lots of it. GasEx and moving are the only things that really help. Even more, I am convinced I made a good decision by doing this. :glare: Hope all my fellow new bandsters are doing well! Brooke

I am getting banded on Fat Tuesday too! (2/5) Today I have to do liquids only and I am starving. I probably should have ate more yesterday, but I think nerves were preventing it. I haven't found out my surgery time, but I'm told higher BMI patients go first. Since I can't eat (actually drink) after midnight tonight I'm probably going to faint by surgery time as I am on the lower end of the BMI scale. Good luck to all my fellow Feb Fivers!!! Keep in touch, I want to know how everyone is progressing....

Get my Band on 2/5, any helpful hints
Brooke posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i've read thru a lot of the questions and answers regarding supplies, gas, post op foods, etc. Any advice that you bandsters have that maybe haven't been addressed yet? I am very excited (and nervous as hell) for the surgery. Thanks in advance for your help. Glad this website exists! Brooke -

Thanks for all the great feed back. We should definitely keep in touch. I am getting more excited, have been reading all weekend. I luckily will have a caretaker, a good friend, up here and have family too, so I'm sure I'll be well taken care of. In fact I have three people all wanting to be at the hospital with me. Thanks for the painkiller tip, because I really do get nauseous easily and I plan on moving around as much as possible, flapping my wings :Banane11:to get all that gas out and drink lots. I bought a Jack Lalanne Power Juicer and I just love it, it's very liquidy so you don't have to strain and even tho vegetable juice sounds gross it's actually very good. It came with some Protein powder that has 30g per 2 scoops, crazy. haven't tried it yet, but i'll let you know. -

Thanks Sunshine! Although i don't have a husband or SO, I am fortunate to have family and friends here. In fact, one of my retired friends (formerly a caretaker) has volunteered to come up the day of my surgery and stay as long as I need her. Thanks again...
