Hi! My name is Cyndi and I am just 4 weeks away from my LapBand surgery.  
My surgery date is February 3rd.. and it’s also my birthday. 
I almost delayed it, because we always go out to eat to celebrate my birthday, and then I realized that this would become a far more important celebration.. The first day of my new life. =]
 
I have battled my weight for almost 30 years; since the birth of my child at age 17. 
However, I always had the perception that I was overweight. I have three older brothers who teased me a lot when we were little, and I have thought I was fat since I was about 4 years old. 
In looking at old pictures, that clearly wasn’t the case, but it was this harmless teasing that set me on a negative self image trip that has lasted for 46 years.
That trip ends on February 3rd. 
 
I have spent 8+ months going through all the hoops to get approved for the procedure, and while I admit I am scared of a lot of the ‘side effects”, I take hope in the fact that I will finally be able to control my eating and truly be happy with who I am.
I look forward to sharing and bonding with many of you, and I am excited for this new chapter to start.
