I had my band placed on Jan 17th, and have had several fills, and now I'm at 6cc's in a 10cc band. I feel very little restriction, and I still feel hungry. I'm getting frustrated! I guess I am worrying that something is not right with the band. I can get another fill at the end of this week, but I am worried that I am getting so close to the maximum. I am working out like mad, and trying to eat right. I am losing very slowly (14 pounds, but the 1st 10 pounds was in the first 3 weeks after surgery). Does anyone else have similar issues?

I am feeling much the same as everyone else that has posted here. I just feel like I'm on a diet. I'm not terribly hungry, but I feel as though I could eat almost as much as before the band. I agree with BensonRN, I think that you don't really start feeling restricted until you get filled.

Hi Anyalee! FinallyFree...I used Dr Balliro here in Jackson. My friends and I were looking into going to St Marks in Utah, but then Dr Balliro started to offer the lap band here. It was so convienent, and we didn't have to travel post-op! Three of us had it done, and we are all very satisfied!

I am scheduled to be banded on Thursday, Jan.17th. I am excited, but getting nervous too. I found this site while browsing around, and it looks great! Two of my good friends, and co-workers are also getting banded the same day. I am very excited that we will have our own little support group! ~~Sara in Jackson Hole

Hello everyone! I am so excited that I found this group. I am having surgery on the 17th, and I am getting more nervous as the day gets closer. I would love to join the New Year's Knock-Outs!! It is really great to hear how others are doing.

I am feeling this way too. I was feeling great this morning, but after my 2nd shake, my port area started feeling very sore, and I had the fullness feeling in my chest. I was actually glad to get that, as I have not felt that much, and I have been able to get in about 900 calories/day and 32-48 oz of water. I'm not sure what is up with the port hurting so badly. It almost feels a little tilted, like leaning forward. I hope everything is ok. I will see the Dr on Friday, so I will ask him then.

My nutritionist recommended Carnation Instant Breakfast, mixed with 1/4 c. nonfat dry milk powder (for extra protein). When you mix both of these with 1c. milk it is 20 grams of protein, 300 calories, and not too much to drink. I think that later on the calories are too high, but I find that I can drink 2 per day, along with some soup and jello. I like the taste a whole lot better than other protein drinks or SlimFast. I am feeling alot better with more calories, but I still get tired very easily!

I was also banded on the 17th. Doing ok today...lots of gas pain, but feel like I can walk around more than yesterday. I was really sore all over yesterday, today seems to be more the port area. It felt great to take a shower this morning!

How did it go for everyone yesterday?? My procedure went ok...but followed by nausea and dry heaves - not fun! Still pretty uncomfortable, but I'm hoping that should get better over the next couple days. I hope everything went well for all of you!

I'm really getting excited! Thanks everyone for your support!

Hi L.A. I read your blog and I just have to tell you that you can totally do the couch to 5K thing. I did it about 3 years ago. It was really hard in the beginning, but it gets easier. I ran 2 5Ks. The 1st one I had to stop to walk 3 times, but the 2nd one I ran the whole way. It was awesome. I stopped faithfully running when we moved and the routine was messed up (or any other of about 100 excuses). Now I am kicking myself!! Anyway....you can do it!
