Good morning everyone! Being a medical professional I understand weight loss and plateaus in others, BUT, after going to such great lengths to lose weight myself I find myself getting a bit ticked at my own stall six weeks post roux en y. I've been at 209 for a week straight. I've been walking and drinking a lot of Water. I have had some bm issues of not being able to go but once every four to five days. Any encouraging advice is welcomed. Happy holidays!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello all! I am curious as to how those sugar free Chocolates go down? Do you experience dumping syndrome even with sugar alcohols? Is there an acceptable amount of carbs in these types of treats? I appreciate the advice! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anybody try Mexican food post on?
nurse247 replied to kblanc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wanted refried beans, however, my physician reminded only vegetarian style was acceptable because all the others contain LARD. Which is definitely not part of the lifestyle change. Tamales are nothing but LARD and use masa which is a carby component of tortillas. I'm never going back to my old body so I'm adhering to the rules. There are low carb and low fat alternatives out there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I think mine was deferred back pain from the gas instilled during surgery. Walking was the best thing for me and getting that gas released. I feel so much better now a week and a half post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have finished the options class Ana now have to wait to see if the case manager says I need phase two labs. This could take a month I was told. I have been waiting for four years to get this done. I am so over waiting anymore... Can someone tell me the process here after is quick? I think Kaiser needs to let up on some of the control over the small stuff. Frustrated to say the least.... Do I went through tricare to get my work up for my surgery. It took months but I got approved finally. Then I get an email from the surgeons office saying because I have Kaiser they're my primary insurance coverage. I was devastated, I've been waiting since 2012 to have this done. So I'm having to go to Kaiser, I was supposed to have my surgery in two weeks. Do I have to start all over at Kaiser? I'm just soo sad about this whole thing.... Please help of you happen to know....

I didn't know! A tale of woe

I tried to disenroll, they won't let me. I saw my new primary and he said he doesn't see why they would make me take the classes as the information I have is more than what they require for their members. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App -
Thank you! I think it will be more real like the day of surgery

Today I should get the answer for my procedure. It's been a crazy ride to get here today. I have tricare prime through United healthcare and I have to say I'm vastly disappointed with their staff. Twice I have called to them to check status of my auth and was told mistakenly it was supportive when it was not. No one knows what's really going on there and it makes me nervous that they are in charge of something that affects my whole life.

I meant approved not supportive lol. I called this afternoon and was approved, for real this time. Lol

Hi everyone! I have been getting grilled lately from my friends about getting this surgery. It is causing me major migraines. How do you deal with it. Keeping in mind my friends are the people I work with on a daily basis.

I have one more test to complete before the surgeon submits for my surgery. If your bmi is over fifty it'd three months of weight loss attempts. If it's under fifty is six months. I actually work for a health plan and these are the standards we use at work as well.
-
How long did you all have to take off for work for this procedure? I don't want to be out for long.
