Shocked how painful
CINNAMON 2015 replied to aleeman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, Sorry to hear that you're having such discomfort. I had a Roux N Y Bypass. My Surgeon did it through Laparoscopy 2 years ago & I had no pain what so ever! I had the BEST Dr. Call your surgeon, there is no need for you to be suffering! Good Luck! -
Thank You!! I'll definitely check it out!
-
Thank you for the positive feedback on this. I couldn't quite make up my mind about the air fryer, but I have now. There are several out there, May I ask which one you purchased? Thank You!!

Hi, I am 2 years out RNY. Right after surgery I kept weighing myself and obsessing. A couple of weeks after, when I had settled down I was in front of the mirror and it hit me 40lbs. was just gone! It was amazing! I have gained & lost a few lbs here & there and you will hit stalls but they don't last forever. I'm not sorry I did this & I had a fantastic Dr. Good Luck with your program. Just drink your water, get your protein in & exercise and you'll be ok!

B12 injections or pill?
CINNAMON 2015 replied to Shades171's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I take the injections. I's easier and faster. Just a heads up, if anyone suggests using the B12 Nasal Gel, DON"T, it's like shoving a gob of Jello up your nose! -
Chest hurts when eating stuff
CINNAMON 2015 replied to KKLive's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you getting enough water? -
Oh I struggled with that too. Just walk and GasX, but once the problem started relieving itself (if you know what I mean!), Well I was getting dirty looks from the cat!!! Oh but it felt so good! Good Luck to you!

Yes, it's uncomfortable, but it does ease up. My problem was constant vomiting for 3 months. Dr. finally did Endo & loosened the pouch a bit and have had no problems since.

Hair loss greater than Lbs lost
CINNAMON 2015 replied to snapy17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi snapy17, Please Please don't get discouraged. A few months after my RNY I started losing hair. Now my hair was long & thick so I didn't think it would happen to me...surprise surprise! It lasted for about 6 months & then stopped. Please try & keep a sense of humor. I used to joke that my house, washer & dryer looked like a dog grooming station! Hang in there & congrats on losing pounds, you'll be ok! -
Hi, yes I went through this. It is normal, mine lasted about 6 months. Not fun when you're going through it, but it will stop. Hang in there! Good Luck!

Question - can I get sick from drinking regular Vitamin Water?
CINNAMON 2015 replied to Kelli Passalacqua's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, no don't think so. If you didn't get sick I wouldn't worry about it. There is a protein drink called Isopure, it comes in a lot of different flavors. No sugar, 40g protein, 20oz bottle, it's really good, no after taste. Blue Raspberry is my favorite. I was about 4 weeks out when I had a craving for a Clementine, so I ate about 3/4 of a small one and OMG I thought I was going to die for hours! So that's what you call a mistake....don't do that! Lol Good Luck -
Taking medications
CINNAMON 2015 replied to cevans2995's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I had 6 pills to take daily after surgery. 3 tablets & 3 capsules. The surgeon told me to stagger them through the day. Just be aware that when you take them at first with liquid it's going to hurt, but that will go away. Good Luck! -

Hi, I threw up for 3 months after my RNY 7 my surgeon went in and loosened the pouch and that solved my problem. -
Hi, yes I do have something for you. It's called Protein Milk Shake Bar. It has 22g of protein. They have a variety of flavors. Vanilla Caramel & Rocky Road are very good. They are not yucky or gritty. I have used it with water & with milk, it's good either way. I get mine through Amazon, but here is their e mail address.......www.proteinmilkshakebar.com phone..1-888-582-2580. Believe me I have tried several and this brand is by far the best. Trust me on this!! Good Luck!!!

I was panicking at first. Hair all over the place, even in the washer & dryer when I did laundry! Gobs of hair would attach itself to buttons & zippers, I had to cut it off my clothes before I could wear them. This went on for about 6 months and then it stopped. Luckily I have long thick hair, but the amount of hair I was losing scared the hell out of me. Oh yeah when I washed my hair in the shower it looked like a dog had been bathed in there!

Hi, after surgery almost 2 years ago I have turned into a "Lean Mean Fartin Machine!" The gas pains I had were horrible. Gas X gave me some relief, but they were still loud & smelly. I caught my cat giving me dirty looks! Lol, All you can do is treat it the best you can & most importantly, you have to have a good sense of humor & laugh at yourself! I have never regretted having the RNY! Good Luck To You!

Weight loss frustration
CINNAMON 2015 replied to meme21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi meme21, Please don't despair it happens to all of us. Your body has to adjust to it's new way of life. I have gone a couple of months dropping only a pound or two. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will even itself out. I'm almost 2 years out. Best of luck to you!! -
When can you eat lettuce or a salad?
CINNAMON 2015 replied to healthyliving23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to stay away from Iceberg Lettuce. The others are ok in moderation. Just be prepared that some of your past foods might not agree with you anymore. For me it's Pasta & Rice. I'm a year and a half out. But I don't regret anything & had the most wonderful Dr! -
It will last about 6 months mine did. Just hang in there!
