So I had my mirena put in 6 months pre op and put on a significant amount of weight. I'm 4 months post op and just don't feel like I'm where I need to be and feel like my mirena might be contributing to the issue. On top of weight gain I have dealt with crazy moody swings, terrible acne breakouts, and bad cramping. Has anybody else had this issue? I have an appointment to have it removed Monday. Really hoping removing it will help. I had the band to bypass revision in December and felt so much better about having one piece of foreign crap removed from my body, hoping this will be the same way
-
Hey ladies! Got it removed and lost 15 pounds in two weeks right after. It definitely had something to do with my struggle to lose weight! No more cystic acne either

Does anybody else get weird cravings?? I'm about two months post op and crave milk like it's nobody's business

I am post op four days from sleeve surgery I miss food!
cstew21 replied to jennah pennycuff's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm over a month out and slowly figuring out what food works and what doesn't. As others have said the surgery was done in your stomach not on your brain. I found that I still "craved" foods that I loved pre surgery but once I took one bite I realized that new body wasn't down for it anymore, and that's totally fine with me! -

I had severe GERD and got bypass. It's been amazing. Yes it's drastic but I have felt so much better getting my band removed -

Hello! I had my band to bypass revision 12/22. The first week and a half were hell and I seriously thought I made a mistake and cried a lot. I'm four weeks out and feeling a million times better. Still slightly tender on my left side incision and think I have finally shaken my stall. I'm down 23 lbs!!! -
Regretting This/Red Zone or just not following the Rules?/worried about slippage/ discouraged :-(

When mine slipped I had severe pain on my left side and was very very sick. I went four days without eating solids because nothing stayed down. Finally got in to see my doctor and he removed all the fluid from my band. I had 6cc in at the time. If you have 10 in that sounds way too tight. I always found it was easy to eat everything I shouldn't with the band. Mind over body when it comes to it. Try drinking more water and making sure you get Los of protein in -
Tried my first Isopure yesterday (apple melon). I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't too terrible with ice and slightly watered down
-
Lesson learned in protein shakes. Got the wrong kind of protein from cvs the other day. Idk if it was the shake or what but I was super nauseous all day :/

I am sitting right at 200 and that flipping number isn't budging. I'm 3 weeks post op, how did everybody get over the infamous week 3 stall???

I had mine removed when I had my lapband. It was miserable. I felt so much better when it was taken out. I was constantly sick and couldn't eat anything

Five days post op from my band to bypass revision.
cstew21 posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I originally got the band in 2010 and did fine with it up until the past year when I started having constant nausea and severe pain on my left side. Originally thought I had a kidney infection, nope just my band majorly slipping and a lovely case of GERD that lead to Barrett's. So yes, got my band out and my roux en y all in one swoop, my abdomen is killing me! The left side where the doctor pulled everything out of feels like my guts are going to come out at any minute. I struggle to sleep comfortably and am just getting overall super frustrated with everything. Am I the only one that dealt with this issue? Ready to get over this and start feeling back to normal -
I got mine at CVS but Walmart had them for $5 cheaper
-
Try scar away! It's silicone sheets. I used them on half of my incisions as a test and even my doctor made a comment about how well they were healing up. The sites I used them on are almost not visible. Now to get rid of the other ones
-
I am almost two weeks post op and I have had one day of a "period" but for two weeks it's been brown and lots of uterine shedding :/ it's gross and I am hoping it stops soon. Has anybody else had this issue and if so how did you get it to stop?? HEEEEELP

Did you try a stomach binder?
-
Dr. Turton is a wonderful Surgeon. He took over monitoring my lapband when the guy that put it in got the boot. Love the fact that he numbs for fills ( the original surgeon didn't and I bawled my eyes out every time I'd have to go in)
-
Wonderful surgeon and a joy to work with. He takes time to thoroughly explain things and answer all questions. His staff is really nice as well. Super blessed to have had him for my revision
-
How long did it take everybody's stomachs to roughly start getting back to normal appearance wise. I feel like my stomach still looks super bloated

Pain after Surgery - What to Expect?
cstew21 replied to NewLifeFinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I highly highly recommend getting a "belly binder". I got one when i had my lapband in 2008 and had totally forgotten about it when I got my revision on the 12/22. It helps hold me all together and I don't get that my insides are going to pop out of my incisions feeling. -
Band to RNY....Failure to Success?
cstew21 replied to ColoradoChick's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm almost two weeks post op from my revision. It's had its challenging moments I won't lie but after five years of dealing with lapband issues I'm beyond glad to have that crap out of my body. Ended up with a band slip, severe GERD, and Barrett's esophagus -
I have three out of my seven left to finish healing the itching has been HORRIBLE. Ready to get the big one on the left healed up and done

Am I the only person that just doesn't tell the person I am interested in about my surgery? I had the lapband for five years and just had it revised to bypass. Dating has always been awkward and i dread dinner dates. I hate being stared at by the guy and asked why I am eating so slow or why I didn't eat so much. Or even worse when I had the band the constant running I the bathroom to "cough", up food. I was embarrassed of the weight I had gained that caused me to get the band in the first place and even more embarrassed when I still wasn't as skinny as I thought I should be.

I just hit my one week post op on the 29th! The first week was definitely a rough one, each day gets a lot easier. My left side is still pretty tender
