No. Definitely no redness, swelling, etc. Looks totally normal, just hurts. Sounds like it's probably normal. I have my diet advancement appointment on 8/25 so I'll check with them then.

No. It's on my right. About 2 inches from my belly button.

No longer stalled. But eating food is VERY challenging.

Agree with the above. Protein, protein, protein. I'm only 10 days post op but can't imagine eating noodles for quite a while. -
Hi everyone, me again! I was sleeved on 8/8 and while I know it is normal to have low energy (especially on the two weeks post op diet), I'm wondering if anyone found anything to help with this? I feel super anxious and bored being at home but I get so tired as soon as I'm out anywhere. Just seeing if there was anything that worked for people this soon after surgery. Thanks (as usual) Kellie

Thanks everyone! I woke up this morning feeling a million times better. It's like someone just flipped the energy switch! Amazing. [emoji3]

Haha. I don't even like yogurt that much so not dying to try it. I'll wait a little while longer. Thanks all.

Shoulder pain - ice or heat?
kelliev2015 replied to eliminnowp's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've heard heat although nothing worked for me. Mine was on 8/8 and the pain in my shoulder didn't go away until probably yesterday. I walked, sipped, took gas-x and it just had to work it's way out of my system. It will get better very soon! -
Thanks. I have been out. I've walked every day that I've been home and over 5 miles today but felt like it was such a struggle. I need to sit down often when before, I could walk for hours and hours without getting tired. Anyway, I know it's normal. Just feeling impatient to get back to normal.

How long after surgery before you feel "yourself "
kelliev2015 replied to NikkiRT's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery on 8/8 and I already feel like I could do a weekend getaway except for the low energy. If it's relaxing, low key stuff, I'd be fine now (6 days post op). -
Ugh. Sorry to be the annoying newbie here but just want to get a little peace of mind. I had my surgery on 8/8 and I'm still getting what I can only describe as intense hunger pains. It happens pretty much whenever I drink anything and also randomly. It last about 3-5 seconds and goes away. Did anyone experience this and if so, do you remember how long it lasted? Is this really hunger pains that I'm feeling or something else? I keep expecting it to go away but it just isn't happening. I'm taking 20mg of Protonix in the AM. It's pretty much the only thing still bothering me at this point. Thanks in advance, Kellie

I only have one that is still hurting. I can yawn now without any pain which is nice. My doctor said it could be up to two weeks for them to stop hurting so I wouldn't worry about it.
-
Tawnmarie, I totally agree! I guess that's why I was asking if they were actual hunger pains or not. It's definitely a weird feeling not knowing if you are hungry or not.
-
Thanks everyone. Of course, I know you are right. It is just hard to remember something that you can't see, I guess. I mean, I know what happened to my insides but physically I feel fine so I just assume that it's all fine in there too which clearly isn't the case. I broke my arm/elbow in April and had to have emergency surgery. I knew why that hurt! I could see the 12 inch incision and the swelling, etc. Internally, it isn't so obvious, I guess. Thanks for humoring me and telling me what I need to hear...again. [emoji3]

I'm down 14 pounds since my pre-op diet on 7/25 and 4 since surgery on Monday. I'm swollen too but I think it's from the fluids as I've been able to go to the bathroom fine. How much have you lost?
-
I had my surgery on 8/8 and am just now starting to get food cravings. Like I would kill someone for a tortilla chip right now. I know it's mental since I'm definitely not hungry but also didn't expect anything to sound good this soon after. Trust me, you are not alone. I'm just trying to think 6 weeks out when this part is over and the healthy choices can begin. I'm ready to eat normal healthy food and at least one tortilla chip. [emoji6]

Is it possible to have too much water?
kelliev2015 replied to CLN.BK's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Geez. My surgery was on Monday and I'm not getting anywhere near that amount of water. It's a struggle to get half of the required amount. I'm doing the best I can but it's tough. If I'm not dehydrated, you probably aren't either. [emoji3] -
Hi all, I'm two days post op (surgery on 8/8) and I'm feeling ok but I am struggling with a few things. The first being the horrific gas pains up in my shoulders. I literally feel like I'm being stabbed every time I roll over. I have been walking, taking gas-x, etc. but it isn't really helping. The second being my stomach hurting every time I drink something. The best way I can describe it is really bad hunger pains anytime something hits my stomach. It only lasts a few seconds but it is really making it hard to get all of my fluids in being so uncomfortable. Does anyone remember having these issues and how long they last? I'm hoping it isn't much longer.

How long does this last?

Thanks all. I appreciate the comments and encouraging words. It definitely makes me feel less alone. -
how long does the process take?
kelliev2015 replied to mariah100707's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had six months medically supervised weight loss based on insurance. I started the process in December and just had my surgery this Monday on 8/8. -
How long does this last?
kelliev2015 replied to kelliev2015's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Did your stomach hurt every time you drank something? I know I'm only two days out so I'm not too surprised but just hoping it doesn't last too long. I'm worried about getting dehydrated. -
Did anyone NOT have a miserable recovery?
kelliev2015 replied to ella37's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery was two days ago on 8/8. I just got home yesterday. I'm feeling pretty lousy but nothing traumatic. Just really sore and it's hard to get in and out of bed. I'm tired and my stomach hurts when I swallow anything so hard to get in my protein and liquids. However, it's only been two days so not expecting much more. I hadn't been nauseous at all and definitely haven't thrown up. I think this pain will be easily forgotten in the coming months. -
August 2 surgery and I am soooooo nervous! Any advice?
kelliev2015 replied to TxSilverAngel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am on 8/8 and super nervous as well. I'm nervous for the short term and excited for the long term. I'm ready to just get it over with at this point. Please let us know how it goes!! -
Thanks everyone! Time is definitely flying by. I can't believe I am only a week away. Super nervous!!

I'm having my sleeve surgery on August 8th. I started this journey back in December cause my insurance required 6 months of MSWL. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by! Now that I am only 2.5 weeks away, I'm kind of freaking out a little. I have no idea what to expect. I've been reading on this forum about everyone's experiences and researching like crazy so of course, I know what to expect but I just don't know how my body is going to handle it. For the most part, my body heals quickly and does what it is supposed to do so hoping this is the same! If anyone else is getting sleeved that day or if anyone has any words of wisdom that you want to share (your experience, advice, do's and dont's, etc.), I'd love to hear from you.

What was your pre-op diet and how long were you on it? Also, did anyone have any issues with their liver not "shrinking"?
