    Hungry

I totally know what you are talking about. I've felt those pains since day 1 and still have them 8 weeks post op. I don't get nauseous and luckily never have but I totally get the hunger pains. The pain isn't as bad after I eat anymore but definitely still get it. Are you eating slow? Small bites and chewing really well?
  2. Totally normal. I'll say the same thing that people told me when I posted this same thing a few days after surgery. [emoji3] You just had major surgery. You have a lot of selling going on in there. It's been 4 days. Just be patient and know that what you are feeling is normal. It'll get better soon!

    Eating salads

I'm almost 8 weeks and have been eating salads for the past week or two. No issues at all.

Protein snacks 3 weeks post op?

I was on soft foods for 5 weeks which definitely didn't include nuts or seeds.

    Incision Scars

Does anyone remember how long it took for your incision scars to fade? I'm almost 8 weeks post op and mine as still super noticeable. Granted, I'm really pale so I'm sure that doesn't help but I'm starting to wonder if they'll ever go away. Color wise, they look almost the same as they did right after surgery, of course without the pain and swelling.
  6. I'm 5 weeks post op and I'm having a hard time figuring out when I'm full. I know this is normal and that's why they say to measure your food but I'm traveling for work a lot and that's not always realistic. I know everyone is different but wondering if anyone can describe what their full feels like? Does it feel like pre-surgery full? Is it painful? At this point, I don't think I'm eating enough since I'm afraid to overdue it. I'm supposed to transition to "no restrictions" on Thursday which will be interesting. Just curious of others experiences.

    Starting BMI or ending?

They go by your ending weight. I was 35.4 when I was submitted to insurance and my surgeon specifically told me not to go below 35 or they would deny me. Also, I couldn't gain weight from my first weigh in either so it was a tricky 6 months.

Are you making your significant other crazy?

My fiancé has been amazing. I'm 7 weeks post op and for the first 2-3 weeks, he was hardly eating anything cause he didn't want to make it hard for me. I had to practically force him to eat and assure him that I was fine around food. He never admitted that's what he was doing either. He just kept saying he wasn't hungry or had a big lunch at work. It was pretty cute. Like the above poster said, he would think I'm beautiful at 1000 pounds or 100 so that in itself has been hugely helpful in my journey cause I know that I have his support either way.

    Surgery scheduled

I'm 7 weeks post op and haven't regretted it once. You'll likely be nervous until the day of surgery and then you'll just be ready to get it over with. That seems to be the case for most people, anyway. Just keep your eye on the prize and know that it'll be (potentially) a tough few days after surgery and then it's all down hill from there. [emoji3] Good luck!!

    Pain Question

Totally normal. I'm almost 7 weeks post op and still have that problem with certain things. I wondered the same thing when I was a few days out and even posted it here so don't worry! It's normal. You'll feel better after a few weeks.

    Return to Work

I did the same thing as @TheRev. I took two weeks off and ended up going back after one cause I was bored out of my mind. You won't know until you know. I would take 2 off if you can and see how you feel. If not, I feel like one week would be plenty for a desk job. I know everyone is different though.

The GI test the day after your sleeves?

I didn't have one. My surgeon doesn't do them because he's never had a leak and figures it isn't worth putting people through that unless there is a reason to. That made me nervous at first but after hearing about it, I'm glad. I'm sure it'll be fine though. Just another small step in the process. [emoji3]

    Sleeved yesterday

Way to go! I hope you continue to feel great!

    Do you ever miss.....

I am 6 weeks post op and had Mexican and a filet this week! It's nice to be able to go out with friends and not have the focus be on food but rather on the company and conversation.
  16. Hang in there! Feel free to ping me if you need someone to vent to. [emoji3]
  17. Call your surgeon. It could be a stricture.

    Getting sleeved in 3 days

For me, the gas pains were by far the worst. Those had me yelling out loud in pain but went away after a couple days. After about day 3, your abs just feel sore but not unmanageable. Everyone is different. You won't know until you get there but just remember, it is all temporary. The worst of it will be over in about a week and all downhill from there. [emoji3]
  19. It is so hard to remember when you can't "see" it. I had a hard time with the fact that I felt ok and figured everything going on inside me should be fine too but there is so much swelling going on in there and it just takes time to heal.
  20. You will feel so much better soon! You have to remember that you are only 5 days out from major surgery. I felt SO much better after the first week and just feel better every day. I'm 6 weeks post op. You will feel better soon too! I know it is hard right now but try and be patient.
  21. I did the same thing. I figured insurance was submitted and I did my last weigh in so was a little careless with my diet before my pre-op diet. I think it's normal to have a little bit of a "food funeral" before your diet changes forever. I didn't have any issues. I did the pre-op diet with no problems and lost all the weight I gained back. Sleeved 6 weeks ago and so far, so good!

Half an hour till surgery...wish me luck!

Let us know how you are doing!

4 days post op and feel great.

I felt great after about 6 days. I'm 6 weeks post op and still have yet to be nauseous, throw up, etc. I just moved to no restrictions on 9/15 and so far, I've tolerated everything I've tried. I think we are the rule and not the exception. IMO, it seems much more unlikely to have a bad recovery than it does to have a great one.

    First long trip

I'm in the middle of my first trip (12 days!), 5 weeks post op and it's been harder than I expected. Just make sure you plan. I went to Trader Joe's and stocked my hotel fridge with protein shakes, string cheese, blueberries, etc.

    Sizes clearly mean nothing

I wonder the same thing! I'm 5 weeks post op and down about 20 pounds and am still wearing the same clothes. I realize it isn't 50 pounds (way to go!) but am still wondering how the heck they seem to fit exactly the same. They must have been really tight before! [emoji3]
