How much are you guys paying and what hospital? I have been researching and I have seen good reviews for doctor Elias Ortiz with alighterme and Doctor Reyes Kelly don't know what company he uses. I'm so confused on who to use.

SELF PAYERS...please give me your insight

I'm also going to Mexico with alighterme. Can't recommend since I haven't had the procedure yet but I've heard great things. They have a closed group on Facebook. Research them yourself. Also YouTube has two people who have used them sleevedmel and thereallisatuttle. Check their videos out. It may be melsleeved. I always forget her YouTube name. -

Research alighterme. They have a YouTube closed group. You can talk to current and past patients. Do a lot of research until you're satisfied. It costs 4600 for the sleeve.

Gastric bypass versus sleeve for the 300+
Indi replied to Phynale's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The bypass is the gold standard because it is older and therefore has more data backing it up. But I think the sleeve will surpass it in a few years. The sleeve is a easier surgery. No malabsorption or rerouting of intestines. I do agree that if you have a hard time making the right decision with food and you don't think you can get it under control then maybe the bypass is better because of the dumping. Also the sleeve's results in weigh loss seem to be a bit smaller then the bypass. But if you put all your effort and do some exercise you can lose tons of weight. Some people can lose 200lbs with the sleeve. It's what you put into it. I hope I helped you make your decision. Good luck!!! -
Any Oregon members that had VSG in Mexico?
Indi replied to nmorgan45's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
They have a Facebook page. Look for alighterme and join the close group. They're are lots of people who go and post pics and talk about their experience as they are there. Very helpful answering questions and being supportive too. -
I saw a very disturbing post about dr Ortiz. I'm worried now.

Have you considered Mexico? It's only about $4500 including hotel and hospital stay. I know it's scary thought to go outside the states for surgery but I thought I suggest it. Doing research on it won't hurt.

Going to Mexico seems to be my only alternative right now. I have a low BMI for surgery and no health problems as of yet. I am also looking into using Dr. Ortiz but I have many questions before I make up my mind. Also I need to wait for tax money to afford it.
