Has anyone out there been banded at Hospital Bajanor in TJ?? I was banded there on 12/13/2007 and just wanting to hear feedback from other patients. thanks!

Hi mamahudu! Congratulations on your decision to take this journey. this is a real place. It is actually more like a clinic vs. hospital per se. My experience was ok. However, I felt that the follow up was very poor. The person that was to take us from the hotel back to the airport never showed--he had been to an all night party, when we called to see where he was he kept telling us he would be there in 20min. We finally called a taxi to get us back to the airport. Had we waited anylonger for him we would have missed our flights. I don't feel that they gave me much information to take back with me i.e. surgery reports (just a generic paper with the name and date changed) which you will need when you go for your fills. Return phone calls are slow if you get one. I finally gave up and deal with a local doctor with any questions. I have had no problems with my band so far and I am glad that I did it. I just wish I had made a personal visit to Bajanor prior to surgery--I probably would have changed locations. I thought I had researched sufficiently prior to going--however, never learned of this website until afterwards. Good luck to you!!

I feel the same--if you are an "illegal" immigrant--you have no rights to assistance--you are illegal! If you are a "legal" immigrant--great, you took the proper steps to enter this country legally--however, that does not mean that you should automatically be provided with assistance to get food and housing. Low interest "loans" to start a business and be a productive member of society is fine. I am fine with temporary assistance for our citizens--I am not ok with a free ride.

It is my pet peve---and honestly--I don't care who I offend when it comes to this issue. With all of the sex education, free birth control etc... there is no excuse to continue to have kids that you can't take care of on your own. Temporary emergency assistance--yes--5th generation welfare check--not ok! If you can't feed 'em, don't breed 'em. And for the men creating children they have no intention of caring for or being a positive influence in their lives--how about a vasectomy. I would be in favor of a "free" spay & neuter clinic.!
-
my opinion is this---i have to work every day, pay taxes--don't have kids because i can't afford it, our employees must be drug tested or they get fired--yet, as a tax payer, I get to support all of the children and welfare recipients that continue to have children, don't work, don't try to better themselves--don't have to take a drug test and recieve a check every month. Granted it is not the childrens fault, however, at some point people need to be responsible for their own actions and quit making excuses and creating new "labels" for why they are the way they are. Enough is enough---how about this country providing a little more support for our elderly that are not capable of earning anymore money and have to choose between a meal and medication.

oh my gosh--i have the same thing! I first noticed when I tried to shave my left leg. I still have that feeling and I also notice if I don't sit up straight it gets a little sore. I am curious about that too!!

That's good to hear about Dr. Fitzpatrick. I am scheduled to see her on Feb. 22nd--this puts me at ease! I live in Wasco County--Tygh Valley. I have family in your area and spend quite a bit of time over there--love it! feel free to email me sometime! deeashley@gorge.net -
Thanks for the information on Dr. Maccabee! I hope that you are feeling well and cancer free! A year and a half of chemo & radiation is quite a journey. I think once you get back into the mind set of the band/weightloss you will do great! I'm sure it wasn't the most important thought while battling cancer. I wish you much luck!

LOOKING FOR ANYONE ELSE THAT HAS BEEN BANDED BY DR. MIGUEL AT HOSPITAL BAJANOR (KNOWN AS REN-O-VATE NOW) IN TIJUANA MEXICO. -
What a relief to get this feedback from all of you. It was really bothering me trying to figure out why and then how I was going to change my schedule to go & have it done at a later date etc.. So, thanks everyone!!
-
Thanks for the quick reply. I really wasn't sure as to why that was part of the instructions and I need to get it done on that date otherwise I have to wait another 3wks for the doc to be in our area and it conflicts with a trip I am taking.

Do you burp more now that you are banded? (non-productive, just air)
DASHLEY replied to dustout's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I wish I could burp now! I used to have the longest, deepest burps ever since childhood and now I am lucky to get any air out. I rarely passed gas and now it seems to be all I do out of the other end!! -

How often do you weigh?
DASHLEY replied to Twilight's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Do u ever get frustrated weighing every day if the scale doesn't show a weight loss?? That's my biggest worry, I don't want to set myself up for a guilt trip if I'm not losing everyday.. -
Thanks so much for the reply---and good luck on your surgery--it's not far away! I am so glad I did it--it took me over a year to take that step! I'll look forward to hearing from you after you get banded!!

Hi everyone! I am a new bandster! I was banded 12/13/2007 by Dr. Miguel at Bajanor in Tijuana Mexico. I weighed yesterday morning and to date I have lost 32 lbs. Only 73 to go  I have been reading the forums and received a lot of great information and decided I should join. I live in a small town in Oregon and there aren't many people to bounce things off of when it comes to the Lap Band, so this is a great site!
