I don't necessarily chew 30 times and I can't always not drink 30 minutes before eating. I never know when I'll get a break at work. But ABSOLUTELY 30 minutes after. It only took one time of forgetting. Results were not pretty!

Gastric Bypass
LPNAshley replied to Nicetomeetyou 82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 3 days I was definitely still on liquids. Full liquids yes, but certainly nothing blended. It's hard to get a sensation of being full when you're just on liquids. Once you can have actual soft foods it'll be easier to tell. Are you measuring everything out? -
Drunk water after eating
LPNAshley replied to aharrison48's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bypass here and Lordy it DID physically hurt me in the form of cramping and find a bathroom NOW lol. It was definitely a mistake I only needed to make once. -
Just taking a moment to vent! I have a neighbor who really is just a wretched human being. Hubby and I have called the cops on this woman a few times for physically threatening me, but they say they can't do anything unless it's physical. I call bull on that but anyhoo. This lovely woman has now taken to oh so noncreative insults. I'm 9 months post RNY. I've lost 120 lbs. I still have a ways to go but man I'm stoked. Well this chick apparently can't tell the difference between Water and a slurpee. Sure as shoot, every time I come home from work she comments about how happy she is I got myself another slurpee. Folks, it's a clear Tervis tumbler with WATER! She also enjoys telling me that she knows what it's like to wake up with twinkies on her pillow (hence the Twinkie twit). Here are my main things, because I'm truly more amused by her comments that upset. 1: It's the "easy" way out. Don't like someone? Comment on their appearance. That'll show them! If it weren't for her letting me know I'm fat (still am no shame here) then how would I ever know?! I swear I went to sleep last night a "normal" BMI! Thank goodness she told me so I can get to the bottom of this! 2: I would much rather still have the 120 lbs I lost than be so negative. If fat is the worst thing someone can come up with than I think I'm doing alright. There are so many worse qualities people can have than excess weight. 3: I don't even know this woman's name. Despite living next door she's a stranger. Why in the world would her opinion mean anything? Yes, I'm taking time to talk about it, but more because I'm tired of "you're fat" being the go to insult. It's old, it's tired, and you're not telling me anything I don't already know. Sorry this was long (but not sorry because I feel better )!

Crack chicken recipe
LPNAshley replied to simpsongrad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Super good. I actually add a half cup of milk to mine because otherwise I feel like it's too thick. Also left off the bacon and it was way better that way. -
I use quinoa in place of rice

Castor Oil or Magnesium Citrate ?
LPNAshley replied to BariatricGal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did mag citrate pre op. One cherry bottle and I chugged that thing. Just very very salty. -
Dieing not really but feels that way.
LPNAshley replied to Mindy78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone has different reactions to foods. If it's on your plan but bothering you, leave it be and then come back to it in a week or two. I have a coworker who's 3 years post op and her new tummy is not her friend. It changes its mind daily on what it will or won't tolerate. -
That would all depend on what your surgeon says.

Gastric bypass still on full liquid I want to eat applebees
LPNAshley replied to fluffy n fit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't understand how you equate not going out or not eating applebees to someone is starving themselves. Those are not the only options. You absolutely CAN go out with friends and not eat. It's a choice. Congrats on the weight loss so far. It's great. But this period of time doesn't last and it's the CHOICES you continue to make that will dictate how much you lose and if it stays off. People here will give great advice but it's not necessarily sugarcoated. -

Gastric bypass still on full liquid I want to eat applebees
LPNAshley replied to fluffy n fit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't realize that not liking applebees automatically equals old prude. Learn something new everyday. Watching football doesn't mean you have to eat. It IS possible to just watch the game. This surgery is just as much about changing habits and mental obstacles as it is about your insides being re routed or altered. -
Cheated 5 days after my sleeve
LPNAshley replied to jenniferbook902's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Even from veggies. They can get stuck in incisions and cause all kinds of problems. It's not stick to liquids because we're trying to be mean. It's so that your body has time to heal. -

Gastric bypass still on full liquid I want to eat applebees
LPNAshley replied to fluffy n fit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well mushed veggies aren't a full liquid. You could ask them to strain a soup for you and just have the broth? -
It was more likely eating the fish too fast, or not taking small enough bites than it was the lemon.
-
It might have been that the dolphin wasn't a soft enough/ small enough bites?

Don't comment with slick remarks
LPNAshley replied to tess170's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LipstickLady and Babbs are actually some of the best people on these boards. They are incredibly supportive but have no patience for anyone giving people dangerous information. In addition, NO ONE on this forum has any support for someone who actually states they want to bring others down. That's the exact opposite of a support forum. -

LPNAshley replied to tess170's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow. They can do surgery on our bodies. There's nothing they can do to fix a crappy attitude. People gave genuine advice. Don't like it, don't listen to it. The fact that you want to try to make other people feel bad about themselves speaks volumes about the type of person you are. The fact that you would try to fat shame is just deplorable. -
Dr. Does not stand by choice
LPNAshley replied to MTWilliams's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A surgeon and his team would be able to give you guidelines about pregnancy too. My rules were no getting pregnant for two years post op. More than enough time to heal and be able to nutritionally support a developing life. Every doctor is different, of course, but most will say that this surgery increases your chances of having a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy. -
BMI of 21 getting gastric sleeve... thoughts?
LPNAshley replied to iloveorganicmilk's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Completely disagree with Alex. This person does NOT need the support of this group. They need the support of a properly trained mental health and psychiatry staff. Medically it is not safe for someone already at a healthy weight and with an eating disorder to get any type of bariatric surgery. Comments that have been made by the original poster suggest they have NO idea what this surgery and what life after it entails. You think she can't still binge on watermelon?! Shoot all you have to do is purée that. Steak might be harder but I seem to recall a thread about someone "accidentally" eating a 20oz steak pretty fresh post op. How many times has it been said: "they operate on our stomachs, not our heads." I sincerely hope this is someone just trolling. That would make a lot more sense than knowing there are surgeons willing to put reasonably healthy, "normal" weight people through this procedure. -
@@LipstickLady the drama actually started with them when I asked them if they would mind not playing bean bags right next to my husband's car. Granted I understand a bean bag probably won't do any damage, but there's normally alcohol involved and people falling into a car could cause damage. The immediate response was like a child "we aren't touching it so no we aren't moving". From then on it's been horrible. Tonight we actually had their kids ringing our doorbell. City cops say there's nothing they can do unless they physically touch us. It's more than a little absurd. The adults don't know what being an adult means and I can't really blame the kids because they just don't have a prayer. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed they're actually gone in a week.
