Oh God I loved that thing! Between that and a heating pad I was golden.

Congratulations Justin! Are you still in the hospital? Sipping and walking are the best things to do. Those gas pains are no joke!

To tell or not to tell? WLS
LPNAshley replied to RLH7882's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My decision was to only tell my family. Unfortunately, my surgery was at the hospital I work at, and quite a few of my coworkers were working that floor that day. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that they respect HIPAA. -

I have a coworker who's 3 years post op and will still measure everything out. It's the only way to know for sure how much you're putting in! -
December 2015 Surgery Dates - Gastric Bypass (RNY)
LPNAshley replied to KirstyKirst81's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I did come home after one day. I will be on full liquids until January 6th and then I think I move to soft foods. But I'll clarify that with the dr/nut at that appointment. Looking through all the threads it's interesting to see how different all the places are. I started to get worried because I'm not doing anything with protein but nope my focus these first few weeks is just supposed to be getting in the fluids. Hope everyone has a wonderful day! -

Good luck today and tomorrow ladies! I had RNY done one week ago and it's such a blessing so far. Prayers for you all that you have an uncomplicated surgery and speedy recovery! -

What are you doing for water right now? I was told to try to do 20 ounces in the morning, 20 in the afternoon, and 20 in the evening. Are you using medicine cups to measure out your water? The hospital sent me home with two sleeves of medicine cups and I set up 6 each hour and sip them. Then just keep refilling. -
New any advice greatly appreciate.

I'm ok with not chewing until the boyfriend starts munching on crackers. Then he gets the side eyes lol. I feel like I spend so much time drinking that I don't have time to chew. No idea how it'll work when I'm actually moved over to soft foods. -
New any advice greatly appreciate.

Congratulations! I just had mine done on the 21st. What kind of advice are you looking for? -
Absolutely love this thread! No matter your religious or spiritual preference it never hurts to have good vibes sent out for you! Awesome idea and I'll be adding everyone in my prayers tonight.

Thanks for the answers! The pain that I'm having doesn't seem related to my incisions so I'll probably call my dr office Monday. I don't have to use the spirometer but it seemed to help with getting abdominal muscles moving.

Merry Christmas ladies! I'm Ashley and I had my RNY done on 12/21. I went home the next day and since then it's just been lots of sips and walking lol. If there's a FB group id definitely be interested in that. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
