    Lettuce

I'm sad I can't have a little salad... lol I'm three weeks post op and I have been told by my NUT that I can attempt it at 4 weeks and see how it goes. Looking at the portions I'm eating now I could eat the veggies off a burger and call that a salad. I do find it hard to get veggies and fruit in by the time I eat Protein and drink all that Water. I usually just eat a cooked veggie as a snack during the day. Trying to eat it with protein is a joke as I never have room. I find my self setting times constantly to remind me to eat, drink, take Vitamins, calcium, etc. I don't think I was totally prepared for how small my stomach was going to be. I'm not hungry, but man I feel like I am eating like a bird.

    Bariatric Pal store?

    That's just crazy... One month...
  3. I am two weeks post op today, and I have been on the puree stage for one week. I have mostly been eating canned chicken, canned tuna and re-fried Beans on top of my usual Protein shakes to get up to my 60G goal of protein. My question, is it normal to have like 4 bowel movements a day? I feel like every time I eat 2 ounces of food I need to go have a BM. Between that and urinating from the Water I feel like I live in the bathroom lately.

    Bariatric Pal store?

I order stuff from Bariatric pantry and it came pretty quickly"
  5. I had a post op visit today and the surgeon sounded pretty confident that my stools will change multiple times, as I heal and change my diet. Yippie!
  6. Now that sounds like fun... I was on all liquid for three days and had nothing but diarrhea. I then switched to Protein for 4 days and had somewhat normal BM's. Now on the Puree stage I seem to have a lot of gas with my BM. Not to sound crude, but I certainly don't trust a fart at this time.

    Out patient gastric sleeve?

Just cause it's outpatient procedure doesn't mean they don't make sure you are ok. I know the wanted to verify that I could hold down fluids, urinate and walk around before they let me go. I had a late afternoon surgery and then told me to pack for the night in case I was not able to complete these items.
  8. I had eggs one week post op. They are part of my puree stage.

    Out patient gastric sleeve?

@PTA-You need to do some research before making such a broad statement. Outpatient sleeve surgery is a common practice. Mine was done outpatient by a very reputable surgeon who has done hundreds of procedures with positive results. I do think one of the drivers behind the outpatient surgery is insurance companies. It saves them a couple thousand a day by not having the patient admitted.
  10. Couple ounces is pretty much my limit, or I feel pretty cruddy. The first time I had eggs they were heavenly, which is funny since I don't normally eat eggs. LOL
  11. Gasx strips is the only thing my surgeon approved.

    Out patient gastric sleeve?

I went in at 11AM and went home at 5PM. Probably could have left at 4 I if I wanted. They put me in my recovery room and let me drink a bit and then waited for me to urinate. Once I did that they took out the IV and old me I could leave when I wanted. I wasn't quite ready to go, but I knew when the IV came out they were pretty much done with me. To be honest I'm not sure what staying in the hospital would have helped.

    I am finally sleeved

Sit back and relax is all. Take some pain pills if u have them. Each day gets better...
  15. 40 since 12/13 and 23 since being sleeved on 12/23. My clothes actually fit.... ;p Went out to dinner last night with my wife and had a bowl of cream Soup. It wasn't real large and I ate maybe 2/3rd. I think I ate too much and felt lousy for an hour... Be careful if u eat out. Measuring is hard to do...

    CAFFIENE?!

It specifically says coffee and tea. Doesn't count towards daily water consumption and I need to use artificial sweeteners.
  17. My poops were messed for the whole week since. Still not back to normal.

    CAFFIENE?!

Make sure you ask your surgeon and don't assume what you read here is the same for everyone. I just read my post op diet on the puree stage and I can drink coffee. It just states that it can't count towards my liquid consumption for the day.
  19. If you can't do sweet stuff get some good chi Ken broth and add unflavored Protein Powder. Eating took away a lot of my stomach spasms.

    CAFFIENE?!

    Any wisdom for day seven?
  21. I'm having issues with knowing full too. I drank 5 ounces last night accidentally with no issues. :/ Guessing in time we will get that feeling.
  22. Coughing was a little sore the first day, but they said it was ok to do. I actually tried to clear it without coughing. If the surgeon isn't concerned you should be good.
  23. I had a cough and chest congestion for about 10 days straight before. Started to clear 2 days before, but was still there the day of the procedure. The blowing apparatus they gave me cleared a lot out after. Make sure you communicate with your surgeon.
