Im going to Monterrey MX. I dont think you need a passport if you drive accross the boarder, I think you just need an ID and a birth cert. But if you fly you do need one. A lot of band Drs are right accross the boarder in TJ so people can drive in; but my Dr is in Monterrey so I cant drive there. It took me about three weeks to get my pass port and it cost an extra 60$ to rush it. I think its like 12 weeks or something for regular processing time. Gosh the government is never fast about anthing! :cursing:

I love this post. I was a skinny girl (100 lbs) my whole life until I had kids and gained 75 pounds five years ago. I never had an ass until I gained weight and I told my husband if I lose my butt I am getting butt implants (hell Ive already gotten the boob implants and I love em). I just couldnt imagine myself without a booty again! I would miss it so much! As much as I hate being so overweight, Ive really grown attached to some of my curves.

Im not looking forward to that gas at all! Congrats on your band!

Wow Pam, Im so glad you are having such an easy time. That makes me feel so much better. Sometimes I get really scared when I read some of the stories. Nice to know I have a chance of having an easy go at it. Of course I felt the same way about labor and that turned out to be horrific for me.....twice. lol

Ohh Im using Dr Rumbaut too. Youre the first person I have met on here who is using him. Are you getting the single insision surgery? I wish I was going on the 11th. Im the week after on the 18th. It would have been so nice to know someone....

The biggest things I will miss are bread, rice, and pasta. I have heard from a lot of bandsters that those dont go down well after banding. But that toast is tollerable if it is really crispy so Im hoping that will be the case for a special treat. But to NEVER eat pasta or pizza or a warm slice from a loaf of french bread....sigh. Ill miss you friends. Im not a huge fan of sweets so Im not that bummed about those. Im a carb junki for sure. So this will be a good thing.

Now thats just something Im not willing to give up! I always thought it was a great choice if you dont get all the fattning toppings. I lost thirty pounds eating chipotle for lunch every day last year before my wedding. Just eat it a different way. I would get a bowl instead of a burrito (that tortillia has HUNDREDS of cals) and then no rice, but yes on the whole beans, yes on the grilled veggies, yes on the fresh salsa, yes on the grilled chicken and a bed of lettus. Then I would split it with another girl at work and it was more than enough to fill me up. I would pass on sour cream, rice, cheese, and gwak. Mmmmmm my mouth is wattering just thinking about my favorite fast food. :thumbup: Dont you guys think we could still eat it if we do it like this? I just cant stand the thought of never eating chipotle again! :rolleyes2:

Hey girly, Im down starting June 1st when I get back from my vacation. Since I dont have a preop diet that will help me get a head start on weight loss like all the preop dieters. I like working out and I have a membership to the gym. But I can only promise you one hour of cardio. I cant give you two hours. I know myself too well! haha :grouphug: I could maybe do weights a few times a week on top of that. Thats all youre gonna get out of me. If I said Id do more Id be lying! :hurray:

So I was running errands today and all of a sudden I thought about my surgery and got sooo excited for the first time! :grouphug: I mean Ive been happy about it but I havent had a rush of happiness before today. Its getting closer and Im getting more and more excited. And I realized today that I am very sure about my desision. Before I had doubts about if I was doing the right thing and I didnt know if I was sure about what I was doing, but today I am so at peace with it and cant wait to get started. Ahhh we are getting close! I just wish it was here already! Ohh well. I guess I can wait.....I am going to Hawaii for two weeks on Wednesday after all. That might distract me from time a little....:hurray:

Girl, I hear that! Im the queen of crash diets. I got under 150 one year ago for my wedding and now Im at my all time highest of my life. WTH is up with that??!! Ive heard its because when you diet then go back to eating normal your body is afraid your going to diet again so it holds onto weight more than ever. Im so glad this yo yoing has seen its last days!

I dont have any serious morbideities, but my Dr said my blood sugar level is boarderline diabetic. He said if I lose weight I can get it in check before it turns into something serious. Also my feet hurt all the time, my back hurts all the time and I dont have enough energy. What are your greatest Fears? By far it is that my band will slip or errod. I am self pay so the expense of the removal surgery and the loss of my band would be more than I think I could take. I would never be able to afford to replace it and my insurance doesnt cover any complications from WLS so Id even have to pay for the removal myself. What is your weight loss short term goals and Long term goals? My short term goal is to get this band so I can get started! My long term goal is to shed 60 lbs and never gain them back! Also to get a TT once I lose the weight! List at least one thing you want to do/wear/eat/buy when you reach your goal? I want to wear a bathing suit that isnt a granny bathing suit. It doesnt have to be a bakini, but at least a cute one piece that dosent have the granny skirt thingy attached to the bottoms. God damn Im so sick of wearing a granny skirt bathing suit and only being in my 20's. Im way to young to be wearing one of those!!!

Aww I see my name there. I had to switch my sugery date till June 18th. =( Its a sad day for me knowing today would have been the day I was suposed to be banded. =( Stupid swine flue. Its all calmed down like I totally thought it would, but I cancelled last week because of the President's urge for people not to do travel to MX if they didnt absolutely have to. June 18th was the soonest I could go back because I have finals starting next week for two weeks then I jet off to Hawaii for two weeks and when I get back from there Im going to want a week with my kids before I leave them for another five days to go to MX. So no banding stories from me today. I wont be posting that till June.

Hey good luck tomorrow! How exciting! Well my insurance wont cover ANY of the band or any complications that arise from it, so Im going to MX to have it done there where there are skilled Dr who charge half the price. My cost for a single insision surgery is 8400 USD It took me a year to save up for the money. Now it will pay off for the rest of my life! I already love my band that I dont have yet. Kinda reminds me of being pregnant and loving the baby I didnt have yet lol

My Dr uses the 35 rule. That is that you have to be under 35 years old and you have to have a BMI of 35 or less. He will let you go if your 36 too though.

Who's your Dr? Thats the same preop diet and the same single insision surgery that I am having. Im going to Dr Rumbraut in MX

Thanks for all your stories. You guys are amazing! Im so scared. To think Im traveling to MX all by myself and Ill have to recover there alone for four days. =( But Im going to bring books and a dvd player and movies. Hopefully I dont get sick and I can just relax and treat it like a mini vacay away from the tots. Any alone time is usually heaven, but Im not sure about this kind of alone time. Im going to miss my hubby. =(
