Late June Sleeve Buddies?
taracutch replied to Maggie143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awww thanks! I keep seeing all these 20 pound losses at the 1st post op visit and wondering what I'm doing wrong! Lol. My doc does a 9 day visit to remove the drain. -

I just had my 1st post op appointment today too and only lost 9 pounds. How did you lose so much in a week? Impressive!! -
Surgery Date was 6/27-6 Days Out

My surgeon said it is likely some nerve pain. He gave me some more pain meds and recommended trying cold or warm compresses. He said it will go away. He definitely was not worried. Let me know what your surgeon says.Ok. Will do. Mine said the same thing. Nerves and muscles were cut. -
How long until you start feeling "normal" ?
taracutch replied to AchieveGoals's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good question!! I'm dying to know the answer to this myself. I'm 8 days out and still very weak and in a lot of pain. I'm tolerating liquids well, no bathroom or gas issues. But I'm just miserable. Zero energy. -

Late June Sleeve Buddies?
taracutch replied to Maggie143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone! I'm not a sleever but had RNY on 6/27 so I've been lurking your group a little bc we don't have a similar group and with you all being on the same timeline as me, it was nice to see some shared experiences. Plus, y'all are a really nice group. I did want the sleeve but had to go RNY for major GERD issues. I found it really interesting that a lot of you are having cravings bc one of the advantages of the sleeve is that when they remove the large portion of the stomach, the evil hunger hormones go away. A few of your posts are cute and funny and I'm wondering if it's actual cravings or just missing the act of eating. I literally could care less about food and, in fact I'm worried that when I go see my surgeon at my 1st post op tomorrow, he's going to put me on soft phase and I don't feel ready. Always, you're a fun group and hope you don't mind me lurking to see what everyone is going through. Congrats to us all for making a brave decision to take back our health! -

Hi there!! I also had gastric bypass on 6/27. I'm also struggling with gas and abdominal pain. My doc only wants me to focus on liquids. When I see him on Wednesday, he's going to remove the drain which I'm hoping will help with the pain. Then he wants me to focus on protein and vitamins. I'm glad he took the pressure off for the first week to just let me focus on hydration. I'm having a really hard time walking due to the pain. -
Dealing with Stress from Rabid Religionists
taracutch replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ugh! Funny aside... I was groggy in my hospital bed and was barely coming alert to a priest standing over me with a bible and blessing me. I'm thinking, "Um, is there something I don't know here? Am I being giving my last rites?" I fell back asleep but inquired later and they said there's a priest who volunteers and goes around blessing patients. Scary!! -
@@randij69 You described my experience to a T. RNY Monday. Left hospital yesterday. I'm in so much pain I can barely move. I'm completely miserable.

@@ACJordan Thanks for the encouragement. Tonight I'm having sharp pains in my groin area like maybe a UTI and numbness in my abdomen, legs and butt. No clue what's going on but I'll call surgeon in the morning. -

@@charley27 I'm just in a lot of pain. The narcotics give me horrible migraines but if I skip a dose I have horrible abdominal pain. I have zero energy and can barely walk. I can only sip water. No broth or protein...can't get past the smell. -
Hope you feel better soon too @@jannet41

RNY was 6/27. I'm still in so much pain. I didn't have gas pain or nausea thank goodness. I just have horrible incision pain and the liquid hydrocordone doesn't work and gives me terrible headaches [emoji45]

"Just 62 pounds?"
taracutch replied to venomousflowers's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I read somewhere that 20 pounds per month is average and most people lose at least 100 by the end of a year. Be so proud of yourself though and how far you've come! Maybe you lose slower but the scale is going in the right direction. Congrats!!!
