Does that tell you the protein amount as well? I thought it just measured the amount/weight.

Oh man the bad breathe. I'm glad that isn't just me. I feel like I need to brush my teeth 12 times a day.

Last Hoop Tomorrow - Any others attending KC Baraitric's class?
KendyLou replied to songsmith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm hoping I can. I just went in today for a follow up and picked up the support group schedule. -
It has been a whirlwind! December 16th here I come.

Dec 15th here- Those Gas-X strips are the best invention EVER -
Mine was 12/15- the tiredness surprised me. I'm struggling with it, naps and sleeping in is new for me.

1) when I had the money saved up for the surgery, since my insurance wouldn't cover it. 2) I always said when I had some sort of health issue that would be it, I got Dx with high blood pressure and set up the appointment the next day

I wish I could drink tea too! I miss it. I was able to start smooshy foods today and have my post op tomorrow. I am supposed to start the Vitamins then. That multi Vitamin is HUGE, I know it's chewable but I think it will take me an hour to get it all in and I'm supposed to take 2 in a day! Holidays- well everyone in my family knows about the surgery and I plan to take my own foods. I will be having refried Beans for Xmas dinner. I'm also taking some Jello and a shake since I'm normally at my folks all day. Same at my mother-in law's, just taking my own food that way I won't have to make anyone else find me something. If no one else knows, you could say you just don't feel well and don't want to risk eating anything solid.

I just was sleeved 12/15 but I am still well over 300. I started the 2 week liquid diet at 365. I'm looking forward to getting back into the 200's.

SELF PAYERS...please give me your insight
KendyLou replied to SHANA55's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did self pay- in the KC area. It was about $12,000, not including the EGD cost. -
I got mine on 12/15, the gas was AWFUL! Thank god that has mostly passed but the heartburn is still my everyday friend.

How great! I just got mine done 12/15 and I know I could use any support and advice I can get.

Kansas city area sleevers?
KendyLou replied to laceygorrell's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, Just found this thread. I'm happy to find a group of folks from the KC area. I just had my sleeve done by Dr. Hoehn on the 15th. While I really didn't get to know him well I just love the staff and nurses there. -
I telecommute full time as well. I honestly took 3 days off, surgery on Tuesday I was back at work on Friday. Thankfully I didn't have any pain or issues though and I work in healthcare so everyone was sure to check on me a lot.

Last Hoop Tomorrow - Any others attending KC Baraitric's class?
KendyLou replied to songsmith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck! that class was really helpful. I've just had my surgery so I'm not coming up but wanted to wish you luck -
I'm on Omeprazole as well. Once a day but I'm still struggling with heartburn mostly at night. I'm hoping it will get better with time.

I got sleeved on the 15th and I'm struggling with the Water intake as well. Plus the heartburn. I think I start the Vitamins after tomorrow (I have to check my book) I'm worrying about Protein intake too. I was able to start smooshy foods today though, eggs and refried Beans, so I think that will start to help. The shakes were starting to make me sick so the only way I can get them down is by making a smoothie, using the shake instead of milk. Ice, a little fruit, shake, maybe some yogurt and I can tolerate that.

I'm in Kansas. I went with Soup I like (but stuck with the light variety) cream of potato, which I didn't need to blend but veggie and bean soup mostly. The dietician at the Drs office said I could eat most any soup that had been blended and it's worked great so far. Today was the first day I got to eat smoshy foods, so I had a scrambled egg this morning. I don't think I've ever been so happy to eat an egg.

Hello! I just had my sleeve at KC Bariatric on the 15th with Dr. Hoehn. So far its been a good experience with them.
-
Mine was done 12/15. So far, so good but it's a rough go of it when no one else around you has had it done.
-
My Sleeve was 12/15 as well. I'm happy to buddy with anyone! So far I'm the only person I know that has ever done a sleeve so it's not easy to find anyone to relate.

New sleevers how are you doing
KendyLou replied to Joymarie333's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was just sleeved 12/15 but I'm doing ok. I've found a few that having a little blender bullet is the best thing I have ever gotten in my life. That has let me eat almost any soup by just blending it all up. So much better than broth. Still working on getting in more water and dealing with some nasty heartburn. I haven't been miserable yet though.
