I am a recently Revision from Lapband to Gastric Sleeve patient who was online searching to see if any other female patients complained about spotting or having unexpected cycles after surgery. I chose to have WLS because I have many medical challenges, chronic hypertension, asthma, sleep apena, pre-diabetic, history of stroke in 2009 and light heart attack 6 months ago. I know that I needed help in getting the weight off to be here to raise my children, as I am a hard working single parent. 
 
The good thing for me is I did not have to wait the 6 months that my employer requires prior to surgery approval, due to my lapband slipping and it being medically necessary to remove it sooner. The pain was excruciating the day of and at least the first 5 days but after that, it continued to lessen, with the swelling going down and my being able to move around better.
 
Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since my surgery and I am down 25.2 lbs already:) My goal is to go from a size 24 to possibly an 11-12. My hope for BariatricPal is that I can communicate with positive people and encourage someone else along the way for us all to be successful on our weight loss journeys. I don't have extra time to physically go and attend the local meetings offered. I remember how mobile I was being thinner, have a high school age child in every sport as well as a very active toddler, that I need to be healthy and free to move around with.
 
I have a great personality, very honest when asked for my feedback and try to think positive most times. I strongly believe in doing my research before jumping into anything, let alone medical procedures, and thus far am seeing very good testimonials and looking forward to a healthier and thinner ME!
