Pre-op liquid diet struggle!
Deneshia Larkins posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Anyone else doing their liquid diet right now? I'm on day 3 and the end of the day got super rough for me. I dont think I've ever wanted mcdonalds more in my life lol. I came waaaay to close to cheating, but ultimately talked myself out of it because 1. ) I've done waaaay too much work for the past six months to do anything to ruin or push back my surgery, 2.) My surgeon told me it would get easier after the 3rd or 4th day, and 3.) I've gotta get used to not eating the foods I have enjoyed my entire life and have led me to where i'm at today. I will not be able to eat that stuff for a lonnnng time, so i might as well get used to it. Its really a bummer on the holiday though....i am constantly being offered food everywhere I go, people are wanting to go out for drinks n such. It's a little uncomfortable,I hadnt planned on telling EVERYONE about my surgery but I've found myself with my back against a wall quite a few times. So anyways, just wanting to hear any advice, support, or just hear from someone else going through the same thing right now that can relate! I'm feeling like the only person in the world having to suffer like this right now lol. -
Psych Evaluation.
Deneshia Larkins replied to hazelzay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
for my psych eval, the psychologist literally introduced himself, ask me a couple of questions about myself (about 5 min tops) then left me in a room by myself to complete a booklet of about 200 random multiple choice questions, i turned the booklet into the receptionist when i was done and that was that.....mine was nothing serious....i think you would have had to seriously have mental health issues in order to not pass -
pre-surgery nerves 4 days out
Deneshia Larkins replied to Craig Wildi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im in the exact same boat! My surgery is on the 4th and i'm not on day 5 of the liquid diet....i have literally had to talk myself out of eating every night....i'm 7.5 lbs down since starting the liquid diet though so that helps to motivate me. -
My surgery is in 10 days and just wondering how the hospital experience went for those of you that have had your surgery. How long did you stay? pain level? energy level? what were you able to do physically vs. what did nurses have to help you with? Did you have someone stay overnight with you or were you alone? What items were helpful to bring? Were you able to wear your own clothing or did you have to keep on the hospital gown? Any information anyone would like to share would be much appreciated!

Im wondering this too. I got my edg done friday....i decided not to find out how much it was going to cost before hand because i didnt want to get discouraged or start stressing about it. Waiting for it to show up on my insurance claims....my hospital lets you set up payment plans for any balance. I have blue cross blue shield silver select insurance. -

My insurance required a 6month program so its been a long journey and im ready for the next chapter! Good luck to you as well, keep im touch! We can be two week partners!! I'm also scheduled for Jan 4th How are you doing this last weekend Of "freedom" lol. My husband is taking me to a restaurant tonight that I've been dying to go to for years. I'm scheduled for surgery Jan. 4th! I start my two week liquid diet on monday. My surgeon said she would like to see me down to 155lbs (I'm 5'5), so i have about 130 lbs to lose. I'm not really nervous at all,I'm just excited to finally have a chance at being a normal, healthy weight. I'm feeling very optimistic.
