Just wondering what lifting restrictions everyone had after two weeks post op. My surgeon told me no more than 10 lbs for the first two weeks, but hasn't stated any titrating restrictions after that.

Absolutely not. I'm currently in the Stage 2 diet meaning I can eat cottage cheese, yogurt, soups, etc in 1-2 oz sittings. I have found that since I can now eat some solid food I want to resume eating more. The 1-2 oz fills me up but I find I'm having to exercise a great deal of restraint with not wanting to "nibble" on other proteins. For now the carbs aren't a huge issue for me as I've done Atkins before with significant success.

The primary issue with caffeine is the dehydration it causes. My surgeon told me decaf but I can tolerate 1 cup of regular coffee at 2 wks post-op. Titrate your creamer, and make sure sugar free sweetener. Everyone is different. Make sure you compensate with getting plenty of fluids. I'm intaking about 72oz of Water per day.

My surgery was at 8 am. By 4pm I wasn't having much pain at all. After an overnight stay and 3 days at home I'm off pain meds. The more you sit still the more pain/soreness you will feel. Get up to the chair as soon as your allowed and tolerate. After that get up and start walking.

Hello! I'm new to this forum but am POD2 of RNY. Other than feeling like I just did 1,000 crunches, I feel pretty good. I'm looking forward to helpful tips on making the journey a little easier. Right now I'm just trying to get a schedule figured out for my stage 1. A little bit about me: name is Jared. Pre-op weight was 397. Lost 17 lbs on 2 wk liquid pre-op diet. I've been a big guy since I was 8. Been through several rounds of WW, Atkins, personal trainers, etc. All with the same story of return of weight with a vengeance. I live in KCMO with my wife and 4 year old daughter. My tipping point was the realization of how selfish it is for me NOT to want bariatric surgery to be in my families life as long as possible.

Very normal. And don't be surprised as your bowel movements decrease.
