You are correct, this is a tool. I was very happy with my success, but that tool will be removed. And where there was a balloon taking up the space there is now more room for food. Did I want the cravings to come back, of course not. But here I am 15 lbs heavier than when I started my journey. If you truly believe this will help you, I say go for it. But for 2 weeks you will be sicker than ever in your life as your stomach tries to reject the balloon. I wish someone had told me to save my money and use it toward having the gastric sleeve. Keep us posted on your decision and progress.

Congratulations on your new journey. I got my balloon on December 9, 2015. I lost about 35 lbs. Start weight 195. Goal weight 145. 160 was my lowest. My current weight is 210. Take my advice and don't get the balloon. Save your money and put it towards the gastric sleeve. I wish someone had told me this.

My six months are up! My balloon will be removed tomorrow!!! I have lost 35 lbs. Has anyone else had theirs removed? I have no idea how I will be feeling. I hope I don't feel as bad as when I had the procedure done!

My instructions were to do semi liquid diet two days before so I did protein shakes. Clear liquid diet 24 hours before. I had one protein shake as soon as I woke up the day before the procedure along with my coffee. I was to have nothing 12 hours before the procedure. I stopped everything at 6 pm. I did have a sugar free mint lifesaver for the dry mouth I had.

My balloon was removed today. Since I can't find any information on the patient's experience, I'm going to post mine. When I got there they started an IV with fluids. I was given Pepcid and some "happy drugs" in my IV. My removal was delayed due to someone needing an emergency appendectomy. This was a perfect time for a nap since my "happy drugs" had now kicked in. Finally it was my turn!!! ????????????. I was first given oxygen and then the anesthesiologist said we'll see you in recovery!!! After giving him the thumbs up ???????? I woke up in recovery!!! I woke up coughing and an extremely sore throat. After I had recovered they wheeled me to a room and I sat in a chair. I feel great, just a little hung over. The doctor told me to do liquids for 24 hours!!! The sore throat is from a breathing tube they use to make sure removing the balloon does not block your breathing!!!

I am going on week 5. I am down 18.5 lbs and able to eat pretty much anything. I drink a Protein shake with 60 grams of protein in the mornings, eat a lean lunch and supper. I haven't started exercising yet. I am loving the weight loss!!!

SLSH you have a very good Dr. I was sent home with instructions on paper of what I need to do. On the instructions it states someone would be contacting me the first few days after the procedure. I was given e-mail addresses and told anytime I had a question they would love to hear from me!!! I have yet to get a phone call. I have e-mailed them and I get rude uncaring generic answers from them. My 2 week appointment is Wednesday. My doctor will hear what a pathetic staff he has!!!

How is everyone today? I'm still on liquids here. Still having bouts of vomiting. I am ready for the miserable feeling to leave!!! And even though I'm not hungry, I am ready for some real food!!!

I got mine on Dec 8. I was convinced something was wrong with mine. I would drink and it just stayed in my esophagus. To get relief I leaned or layed on my left side. I would then vomit. I was never nauseated. I am not getting a lot of calories in me at this point. I still have episodes of vomiting. Especially if I drink too much!!! I hope everyone's journey goes great!!!
