2 months & 3 weeks - PLEASE CHIME IN
ThinnerRivers replied to LittleMissCopular's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You look fantastic! It looks like you've lost so much weight and by it sounds, you'll be losing way more..! Congratulations! -
Congratulations! I'm sure you'll reach your long stretch goal!

No.. It's alright. You're doing it for yourself, because you want to feel better in your own skin. As long as your priority is your happiness, then I don't see anything wrong with it. I personally had my surgery in Mexico, well to be more exact, Mexicali, and I couldn't have made any better choice.

Cold all the time?
ThinnerRivers replied to Emilie.Lancaster's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used to never be cold, but ever since the gastric sleeve I grew to be cold most of the time... I was told that it was because my body had lost plenty of fat calories that kept my body warm, therefore I was cold most of the time.. Nowadays I just wear plenty of layers. Like long socks or stockings under jeans. Warmers under jackets, etc.. -
I totally understand you... I normally eat as a healthy snack some small chopped fruit, seeds, greek yogurt, half a cup of soup or dried fruit:) Sometimes I even make myself some cooked ham rolls with low fat cheese..!

Orbera balloon surgery
ThinnerRivers replied to aelwillmann's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I didn't have the Orbera Balloon, but the Obalon Balloon... I experienced lots of cramping because of the acid inside.. It did make me question if it would work, but after like two months I lost up to 5 or 8 pounds, which I didn't notice on myself but I was told by relatives and friends. I had it removed though... -
Vitamin questions....
ThinnerRivers replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't mind taking pills or chewable, I take 2 chewable multivitamins, 2 omega-3 chewable vitamins and C pills. When pills are too big, I just cut them in half and it becomes easier. -
One year surgeversary!

Cleaned out my closet again.
ThinnerRivers replied to Margie122's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Getting rid of clothing that no longer fits me feels fantastic...! Clothes that no longer fit me but are in good conditions I tend to pass them over to relatives or friends that desire them. Sometimes I just send them to a tailor to do some cutting and stitching so they will fit me! My closet has now space for more size fitting clothes too! I'm excited to go shopping and well, I guess keep losing and repeating the wardrobe cycle haha -
I don’t feel any restriction with the liquids.
ThinnerRivers replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with @@OutsideMatchInside , it must be because you're drinking the right way. Keep it up, small sips at the time and you won't need to be struggling with burps..! -
Fluid intake
ThinnerRivers replied to Trooper Wifey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I happened to me at first, and even 4 months, after I still have some burping issue when it comes to liquids, but it's minor.. I recommend drinking them slowly and in sips during the day..! It will get easier..! -
Horrible lesson learned!
ThinnerRivers replied to retzlpa's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I totally get you! It's awful! I feel like I need to throw up everything... But I realized.. At least for me, it was because it was too soon for me to be drinking right after food. I'm 4 months post-op, took me three months with only drinking 30 minutes after. Like three weeks to drink 15 minutes after, and now I am taking small sips after 5 minutes, but I don't push it.. I am very careful. -
Hello! I just thought maybe I could share some of my post VSG surgery, with some of the NSVs that I've had so far in three months..! 1. I cannot believe how many jeans I can no longer use because they just don't fit me! They keep hanging and not even wearing a belt helps me much because it simply looks way oversized... I'm so glad that it means that I've been clearly losing weight, but now I have to buy many pair of jeans..! hahah 2. I used to be traumatized with my arms because I thought they looked too big and unflattering.. But thanks to the weight loss, I don't feel scared to use a sleeveless shirt or dress anymore.., even a sort of skin rash I used to have is now gone!<3 3. Huge confidence boost? I know I don't look like my very thin friends, but I feel so comfortable in my skin that I cannot help but to be so happy and optimistic! I will keep losing weight and hopefully I will eventually accept how my new me looks like and move on from the idea that I still look like old me.. I am so delighted with my results.. Hopefully more NSVs will keep arriving<3

Thinking about getting sleeved
ThinnerRivers replied to haheen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello haheen, I'm Maria and I'm 17 years old.., I can understand how you're feeling.. I too tried many diets that would only disappoint me and even made me believe that maybe it was me.., but now.. I will soon be achieving 4 months since I had my gastric sleeve, and I can tell you that my life completely changed, for good. Not only did I start feeling better physically, but emotionally too. I don't think I've ever been this comfortable in my body, and having the sleeve was one of the best decisions I've done in my life. You'll find so much joy and sense of accomplishment! I can promise you that it's silly how much happiness one feels when fitting into smaller clothing and looking in the mirror and finally starting to like yourself. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to message me! -
Looking for buddies/support :)
ThinnerRivers replied to carsondean's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi! I am Maria, I'm 17 years old and I can relate so much to this.. It's December and the temptation of eating junk food is so big that sometimes my willpower isn't enough and I end up eating food that I late regret.. What helped me a lot to avoid eating this sort of foods was to drink liquids. Mostly tea, but that's my personal liking. Sometimes some veggie food.. I turn side meals that I could have into very small proportions and consume them as snacks! But they take away my hunger or craving better than an actual snack food. -
How To Deal With All The Temptation During The Holidays? When You Fall Off How Do You Get Back Up Again?
ThinnerRivers replied to ljmasterdebater's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Funny how this was posted two years ago, but it will always be relevant! I find myself having this issue right now.. It's December and the holidays' food is soo tempting.. I know I cannot eat as much as I did before, but even so.. The small proportions I can eat, i don't want them to be junk food or something that isn't so healthy! You're right though.. The best is to kill the temptation with having only one bite/taste. I hope you're doing well with your sleeve!
