I am only 3 weeks out from gastric sleeve and constipated. What is safe to take this soon after surgery? I am following the Nutrition plan to the letter. I will call the office on Monday but wondering what is safe in the meantime.

How long before you felt normal again?
ocgirl15 replied to destiny_77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was two weeks on 12/28 and felt tired and foggy. The dr had me start my bari mult vitamin on 12/29 plus puréed food. Within 48 hours the lethargy and brain fog lifted. I feel great today! You will turn the corner soon! Keep up with your fluids! -
I feel very weak and tired… I am getting about 70 grams of protein in, but need a boost
ocgirl15 replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the worst fatigue and brain fog. At my 2 week visit the doctor said to start taking the vitamins asap and they really helped. -
My surgeon allows it after 2 weeks but I am afraid to try it. It gave me heart burn before surgery.

Why is coffee bad for us ?
ocgirl15 replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon and NUT only require I give it up for two weeks because it is acidic and irritates the stomach. However many post sleevers from my local support group don't really seem to start drinking it again. -
Tomorrow will be two weeks for me and I was more this week than the first week after surgery!

Just remember how you ate last year, Maybe 4 or 5 ounces of turkey, a cup of potatoes, 1/2 a cup of stuffing, 2 pieces of fudge, 3 cookies, 1 large piece of pumpkin pie.....repeat 4 hours later!......I don't think you were that bad. That was example of holiday moderation in my book. I bet you were an angel today! Forgive yourself and move on!

10 days post op and always hungry
ocgirl15 replied to shareefa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Strange thing is gas and stomach acid can give the sensation of real belly hunger. I addressed that and now I am just dealing with head hunger. Ask your doctor what otc acid reducer he recommends. I was already taking Prevacid so mine told me to stay on it for the short term because the stomach will continue to make acid but it is not getting solid food. That causes a false sense of hunger. For gas I am using gas ex that melt on your tongue. -

Stupid question, should my stomach be really swollen ?
ocgirl15 replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was really swollen too. I was sleeved 12/14. This is the first day it didn't seem swollen and I am about 10 days post op. -
Weight Gain 3 days post op?
ocgirl15 replied to amandasue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree it is IV weight. I was sleeved 12/14 and gained 7 lbs. It took five days to loose it and now I am finally less than my surgery day weight. After 2 c-sections I knew it would happen so I wasn't worried. But the first major surgery it is very upsetting I know! -
I was sleeved 12/14 too. The day I came home from the hospital I was 7 lbs heavier that the morning of surgery! Though annoyed I wasn't worried. I had two c-section before and know what IV fluids can do. I am now seeing the scale move at a snails pace below my surgery day weight. Don't worry it will happen!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays EVERYONE!
ocgirl15 replied to Fatty McFatster's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to everyone. I was sleeved 12/14! My first Christmas that I won't stuff myself like the turkey. But I am well enough to keep my family's traditions. I made Christmas cookies with my little kids. I cooking Christmas dinner tomorrow (no company thank the Lord!) All this food that I can't touch but I am ok with that. I been ok with all the takeout since surgery, I have witnessed my family gorge themselves on pizza, Chinese, McDonald's and even Carrabbas! I feel like I have a new super power!!! But just wait....when I am eating solids again there are going be healthier dinners for all! This sleeve is going to be a new healthy start for the entire family! Makes for a positive outlook! And I can't wait to keep that New Years resolution this year, but just weight loss would be to easy. I New Years resolution is to get fit! -
Hello. I was sleeved 12/14 to! I am happy to meet all of you. It is going ok. I am so bored with my liquid diet! I get to try puréed on 12/29. So my question for all of you is how are planning to deal with the Holidays? I have kids and in-laws so they can't be avoided. And only my hubby really knows what is going on. What are your plans to "deal" with the Holidays?

Same as you....purée at week 2. 1 more week to go!

Surgery on Dec 23, I have a cold and un-supportive husband
ocgirl15 replied to CravingABetterMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Continued......basically I knew I wouldn't keep a diet like this without help and all the weight would come back. You need to make this decision for yourself and your health. He doesn't have the knowledge you do. This has to be your decision alone. -
Surgery on Dec 23, I have a cold and un-supportive husband
ocgirl15 replied to CravingABetterMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so sorry you have to go through this. I am you in so many ways, 5'0 ft and started at 212. No local family, 2 kids. Big difference is my husband is not a jerk. He didn't say much at all positive or negative. I can bet he would have preferred I forgot this idea But he kept those doubts to himself. He knows I am logical person and did all my homework to get to surgery day. Btw we all have commitment issues with exercising and avoiding food. That's not a reason not to have surgery. If anything you need this powerful tool at your disposal to be healthy. I didn't exercise before but have walked everyday since surgery. I think it is going to stick. Some how not my stomach had changed. There is a mental part too. I was down to 195 surgery day. I did ask myself maybe I don't need surgery. Then I reminded myself I am on 1000 pre op diet.....what are c
