Help find good restaurants that are not fast food
ocgirl15 replied to godrules61's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I like Carrabbas. They have small plates and tasty grilled chicken options. Be careful they have lots of stuff you don't want like pasta. Last time i got take out. I ordered kids grilled chicken with vegetable of the day for $6! I stilled couldn't finish it and it tastes the same as their adult version. -
I had to remove everything including wedding rings.

Is Anyone Else Able To Eat A Whole Lot?
ocgirl15 replied to kortana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We are all so different after VSG. Personally I couldn't eat that much 7 months out. But I also never vomited even once. However when I eat too much I am very very uncomfortable. I think it can take awhile for the nerves that signal fullness to work. That's why measuring food is very important early out. I don't have any great advice other than ask your surgeon for a swallow test just to be sure. -
Maybe this opinion was stated in a harsh way but @@Fredbear is right. If you share your business you are bound to get some nasty comments eventually. I think it stinks you were treated this way but I am really not surprised. There are a lot of ignorant people out there. Every time someone shares a story like this it reaffirms my choice about only telling my husband and 3 best friends.

You know this is jealousy right. And this person is so jealous of you they cannot contain it. They made an idiot of themselves in front of their family and I am sure others in your family let them Have it!!!! From your stats you started at a relatively low BMI like I did (42 for me) and there is no reason you can't loose most of your excess weight. You will be healthy and look great in no time at all. Getting your health back will be the best revenge!

Are sleeved folks able to eat popcorn at any point?
ocgirl15 replied to kadie777's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Really? Cause my dr said no more bread, Pasta, or rice ever! Forever is a long time. That has me more scared then the actual surgery pain. Do you enjoy food like you did before just in smaller portions? Cause I'm afraid eating for me will always have to be a challenge from here on out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Question is can you or should you? I can easily eat pasta and bread but don't eat it since I am still in weight loss mode. But my sleeve is fine with it. Rice I really can't tolerate.Lol! I am certain we all know we shouldn't. But sometimes you gotta live a little! Lol I agree with you 100% too! I have to admit I lived a little today! Even had a little popcorn! -

I don't plan on eating it a lot because I know it is bad for you. I'd still just like to know that way down the road I could have a couple bites of pasta salad or maybe a piece of toast here and there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I agree with you 100%! Not all post op diet plans are created equal and many many doctors like to make everything seem black and white and talk in absolutes. For the most part it is all BS. In most cases your sleeve can tolerate most foods once fully healed. There are a couple things I don't tolerate but my doctors allows it. It is our choice to make smart choices. I am 7 months out and I could eat almost anything if I wanted to. -
Stomach cramps, bloody stool and chest pain with headache?
ocgirl15 replied to venomousflowers's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had similar symptoms many years ago. It could be many things but they told me I had infectious colitis caused by food poisoning. Since it was bacterial antibiotics gave me relief quickly. Please get to the ER and let us know how your doing. I was so sick for many days and a little antibiotic worked wonders! -

Your success might convince her to take her doctors recommendation seriously! Hope she sees the light and gets healthy. But this is about you right? Congrats on your decision! Yesterday I would have told you I am a sleever who cannot tolerate coffee. I am going on 8 months and couldn't stomach more than a couple sips. Very sad because coffee was my passion and only addiction prior too surgery. I was allowed coffee by my surgeon relatively quickly but I couldn't drink it!! Well that changed yesterday morning. I bought some low acid coffee on Amazon called pure roast. Success! I drank a whole cup! I felt so good and jittery ... Boy did I miss that feeling.

@@ixico Stalls are normal in this process but two months of stall at 4 months would get anyone concerned. I want you to read Embrace the Stall. I can't quote it here probably because I am iOS. Can someone add a link?? Or just search for embrace the stall. There is a board for vegetarians and vegans. I recommend you reach out to them. They might have some great protein advice that us omnivores just can't help you with. Good luck!

Hate to disagree with your doctor but if you have stalled this long you need to track. Not forever but at least until you know your macros and know what adjustments you need to make. Most of our doctors and Nuts would a agree with me. I am 2 lbs away from normal BMI In less than 7 months. Recently I only track when I stall and knowing my numbers helps me break it. We can't help you unless you know how much protein your getting. We don't know if your calories are too low or high.
-
I never thought low fat was a great idea because it never helped me loose weight pre or post WLS. Carbs are and will always be my enemy. VSG is a tool that works for me because it is much easier to stick to a low carb diet. I do my best to avoid saturated and trans fat. I do low carb but I don't intentionally do low fat. With that said my taste buds are accustomed to some low fat products like skim milk or low fat yogurt. I also prefer grilled chicken to say greasy sausage. However, I intentionally avoid low fat cheese and eat healthy fats like olive oil or nuts.

What are you eating for protein and how much are you getting. What is your caloric and carb intake? Most important what is be fluid recommendation and are you meeting it. Are you tracking, if not try My Fitness Pal. With more info I am sure we can help! Good luck to you!

Wow I just happen to see this. I but had both Dr Zarif and Amy in December 2015 for VSG. They are great. You will like Angela too! Absolutely no complications! Good luck on your journey! -

"This was the best thing I ever did"
ocgirl15 replied to shotgun72000's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sure! I am 7 months post op. I got to my doctors goal months. ago. I am 3 lbs from normal range BMI and 8 lbs from personal goal. My health has improved so much. Off 3 medications; cymbalta, Metformin and Spironolactone. My PCOS, cholesterol, plantar facitis, metabolic syndrome, incontinence, psoriasis, back pain, knee pain, ankle pain and arthritis are either 95-100% better. I also rarely get headaches anymore. I have energy, I can keep up with my young children and my husband has the girl he dated back ( I am better than the girl he married lol!). I have less aniexty with no medication at all! Also I look awesome! -
Actually we are just a bunch of people on the Internet with no medical degree. Everything we said is either hearsay or opinion. Make sure you find a reliable study and talk to your surgeon. It will back what we say but always get this info from reliable source.

Wow! You look wonderful! Congrats! -
I was allowed mash potatoes during purée stage with low cal gravy to make them runnier along with some other carb dense foods like oatmeal. I didn't indulge really because I never have lost weight well eating carbs and didn't want to eat them that early. But now I have them maybe once a month or every six weeks. They go down with no issues. Moderation!

@beccaconaty87..... Where did you get that statistic? If it is particular to your surgeon don't let them touch you!
