Does anyone have a scale addiction?
Tricia K. replied to Kirsten117's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
*raises hand* Guilty as charged, I'm afraid. It got so bad that I asked my DH to hide the scales. I weighed myself this morning for the 1st time in 2 weeks. That's the plan for now - - weigh myself once every 2 weeks. -

Hey sweetie!! I have missed you. I'm so glad to see that you're back but sorry that you've stalled. Wheetsin has given you some very good advice. I was at a stand-still for quite some time and didn't see any results until I went in for a small fill and changed some things. Upping my water did wonders. Doing a liquid diet for a few days did wonders. Focusing on solid proteins for a few days did wonders. Mixing up my exercise routine did wonders. The scale is definitely moving slower now but it's still moving. I hope you are on the losing side again VERY soon. Please stay around, ok?

You may also wish to look into buyowner.com. You pay no real estate commission fees to sell the house. They do charge fees to list your home on their website, post pictures, etc. but it's far less than what you'd pay in commission fees to a real estate agent. Pricing your home: If you're unsure as to the price you should ask for your home, contact a local appraisal company and inquire about their fee for appraising your home. Tell them that you're looking to refinance and they'll pull comparable homes in the area and provide you with an appraisal price. This will get you the most for your home. If you don't want to go the buyowner.com way, you could try to do it on your own by putting an ad in the local paper, purchasing "For Sale By Owner" signs and indicate that you're having an open house on a particular weekend/weekends. If, after a few open houses, you don't get any offers, you could then list it with a real estate agent.

LOL...I've noticed the same thing! It hurts to sit on hard chairs, in the bath tub, etc. And, I still have padding on my butt! What gives?

4.99% is a great rate. Please check out the link below for current mortgage rates. Keep in mind that these reflect the mortgage rates for buyers with GREAT credit scores. http://www.bankrate.com/blm/

FYI - You may wish to wait until your 2 year mark in October before you sell. Otherwise, you'll have to pay high taxes on any equity (capital gains) you make from the sale of your current home. If you wait, Internal Revenue Code 121 allows for the following once you've lived in your principal residence for at least 2 years (but not longer than 5): Single owner - $250,000 tax exemption Married couple filing joint tax return - $500,000 tax exemption The link below may help explain further. http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode26/usc_sec_26_00000121----000-.html

Gone For Good Club- August 2006

I'm here, sweetie. I was in Florida for a long weekend and just returned yesterday afternoon. I'm happy to hear that you're back at the gym. I need to get my butt in gear and exercise again. I took too long of a break while on vacation. Had I known there was an exercise room at the condos, I would have brought my workout gear. I won't jog without my trusty sports bra, ya know. I hope you get to onederland by Christmas, Heather. That would be such a great gift. :huggie: Wazzup, Dawg? Congrats on losing 80 pounds. -
It does sound like a mild infection but the antibiotics that were prescribed should fight it. If, after taking the antibiotics, you find that it's not getting better, it would be to your benefit to go see a doctor.

Considering Lap Band A few ?s (Newbie)
Tricia K. replied to coltonwade's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have PCOS and suffered from severe migraines prior to surgery. Since having surgery almost a year ago, I've had 3 very mild migraines. Also, as you can see from my stats below, having PCOS hasn't affected my ability to lose weight with the band. I wish you the best of luck! -
I bought the book the other day and will read it before I see the movie. Thanks for the heads up though.

P.S. my current weight is a guesstimate because the scales are hidden. I won't really know what I weigh until next Wednesday. I may only weigh myself every 2 weeks. I haven't decided just yet. -
If you go to obesityhelp.com and click on the word "edit" in the top right corner of the Before & After section, you can filter by surgery type.

Gone For Good Club- August 2006

I have 2 NSV's. 1) I purchased a size 12 tankini to wear on my Florida trip this weekend. 2) When I sit down, I now have that visible 'line' on the side of my legs that defines the quadricep muscle. Does that make sense? -
The seller just accepted our offer, we should be moving in the first week of August. I LOVE this house!! It's a 5 year old Victorian, 2880sq ft living, over 4000sq ft total, on 2 acres. The outside of the house (That's not the street you see there, it's a circular driveway, the house sits quite a ways back from the road)

Thanks, Emilee & Paula. LOL...actually, I slept like a baby last night. The owner will still be there until the 16th as he's waiting to close on his house. The 20th is our big move-in day.
