I would contact one of the moderators, like Alexandra, and ask to be removed as a member. -

Yes, I drank the 16 oz. when I was newly banded as part of my liquid phase. While I was newly banded and up until my 3rd fill I was able to drink the full 16 oz. at one sitting. Now, I can drink 8 oz. for Breakfast and then I follow up with the remaining 8 oz. some time during the day so that I get the full 57 grams of Protein. I mix several 16 oz. bottles at a time and refrigerate them so that I am not mixing them on the fly. I also found that if they are refrigerated for at least an hour or 2 prior to drinking that they are much thicker and resemble more of a milkshake consistency. Yum. :couch2: And, you're very welcome for the tip. I plan on heading to Sam's Club myself very soon.

My preference would be one of the following: 1. Body Fortress Premium whey Protein powder - vanilla or chocolate (FYI, you can find 5 lb. tubs of this at Sam's Club for approx. $21) 2. EAS 100% Whey Protein Powder - Vanilla I typically mix 2 scoops of either of them with 16 oz. of non-fat milk, which equals approximately 393 calories and 57 grams of protein. On another note, I recently purchased a huge tub of GNC 100% Whey Protein Powder (Vanilla) and I hated it so much that I returned it for a full refund. YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!

Want to see how long you'll live? Take the Life-Expectancy Quiz!
Tricia K. posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is kind of cool. I took the quiz and, according to my calculations, I'll be living until the age of 96. Here's an excerpt taken from the following website: http://www.demko.com/deathcalculator.htm "Your chances of living 100 years are "90 to 1". The odds get better with each new scientific discovery. One million boomers are expected to reach 100 years of age. Will you achieve membership in this prestigous "one-in-a-million" club? Don't sit and wonder. Find out ... right now." -

Liquid Calories/Protein Shake Question (Long-winded)
Tricia K. replied to Tricia K.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm not sure as to whether or not she's discussed this with her surgeon. I would hope that she has. If she hasn't, she certainly needs to ASAP. And, if she has and he still wants to give her another fill.....oy vey!! That's beyond comprehension for this girl. :faint: -

Liquid Calories/Protein Shake Question (Long-winded)
Tricia K. replied to Tricia K.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm in complete agreement with you on the fill matter. She is in no way in need of a fill if she's only on mushies right now. She's obviously too tight as it is. I'm the type that can't eat solids in the mornings, unless I have no restriction. That's why I stick with my 16 oz. whey Protein shake, which keeps me full until lunchtime. Thanks for your response. -

Liquid Calories/Protein Shake Question (Long-winded)
Tricia K. replied to Tricia K.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think you may have misunderstood my original post as I wasn't concerned about my own protein shake intake. I've already discussed this with my surgeon. I was never asking this woman for her advice but merely stating my opinion/contradicting her regarding her comments to the other woman. But, thanks for your reply. Best of luck to you. -
Liquid Calories/Protein Shake Question (Long-winded)
Tricia K. replied to Tricia K.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh, I completely agree with you. After I contradicted her, she didn't argue that my protein shake for breakfast was wrong but the fact that she jumped all over this woman about drinking protein shakes in the first place and then got pissy when I contradicted her is what bothered me. I am just wondering if her mention of the "well-known" liquid calories are indeed well-known. -
Nykee, that's wonderful. I'm so happy that you're having a great experience with your aftercare.

Congratulations and welcome to bandland. Best of luck to you.

I'm posting early because I'll be running around most of the day tomorrow. 1/4/06 Weight = 236 NSV: I bought a size 18/20 belt to hold up my too loose size 22 pants. 1/9/06 Weight = 234 (-2) NSV: I was able to fit into a misses size 20 pants at Old Navy. 1/16/06 Weight = 229 (-5) NSV(s): 1) My mother-in-law came to visit this past weekend and called me a "skinny minnie!" 2) I can now fit comfortably (with room to spare) in those plastic, stackable patio chairs. 1/23/06 Weight = 228 (-1) NSV: I FINALLY had to break down and buy new size 20 clothing because I was tired of my old clothes falling off of me. 1/30/06 Weight = 226 (-2) NSV: I had to move the seat in my vehicle closer to the steering wheel because my butt isn't so big anymore. 2/6/06 Weight = 221 (-5) NSV(s): 1) Our female bowling league partner told me this past Tuesday that I had a nice butt. P.S. She wasn't hitting on me. LOL 2) I fit into and purchased a pair of size 18 shorts. SV: 4 more pounds and I'm halfway to my goal!! :biggrin1: -
Going to work 2 days after surgery?
Tricia K. replied to skbishop78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
As others have said, everyone is different. I could have gone back to a minimal movement desk job 3 days later. However, I would have explained to my boss that I may not be as productive as I was pre-surgery due to the fact that my body is still healing. -
I completely understand, but, thank you for the offer on the 15th. We may just take you up on it. :clock:

I'm also rooting for the Seahawks because I'm originally from that region (Oregon).

I would be interested in an LBT discount for the Lake Las Vegas gondola cruise. We'll be in Las Vegas from February 12th through the 16th. :clock: Thank you!
