Tricia K. replied to mini_me's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The only advice I can give you for implementation is just to have extreme willpower. I know that it's hard, but it's mind over matter. Good luck, :first:! -

LOL - - there will be a full moon tomorrow!! I know how some of you feel about gaining weight and/or a wacked out scale. I stepped on the scale last night and it read - - 204!! I was like WTF??? I couldn't have gained 6 pounds by recently stepping up my exercise, could I have?? I saw 200 this morning, which still doesn't make me happy. Who knows, maybe I too need a good colon cleansing. Anyway, good luck this weekend, everyone.

Jessiebear, I would recommend that the first 2-3 times that you go, you tan for a maximum of 5-6 minutes. The next few times, increase it to 8-9 minutes. By doing this, you decrease the risk of burning but build up a good base tan. Once you've achieved your base tan, you can increase the minutes to 12 or 15 and then tan 2-3 times per week. Oh yeah, try not to tan every day. You should skip at least 1 day to let the prior session "set" in.

Congratulations and welcome to bandland!
-
My surgeon said there was no risk in damaging the port from tanning - beds or naturally.
-
Thanks, Diane. *blush*

Yes, I tan every other day. I pay a yearly VIP membership fee of $70 and then $35/month for unlimited tans in their super beds. I absolutely LOVE to tan.

I've had it and I think it's delicious. If you live near or plan to be in south Jersey, try a Rita's Gelati. They are delicious!! To me, it tastes better than regular ice cream. However, I wouldn't integrate it as part of your bandster diet. It's full of empty calories, fat and carbs. http://www.ritasice.com/homeFrame.html

Holy crap!! I missed it but that just SUCKS!!! He is my favorite guy contestant. He has nothing to worry about though. He's going to get a record contract ASAP, I am sure of it. Ok, now that it's down to Taylor, Katharine and Elliott, I'm hoping Katharine wins. I think she's fantastic, even with her little slip up last night.

Wal-mart sells the recumbant bike below for $108.67. I have one and I love it. This one is much better for those with back problems. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4213117

Kathy, I'm sorry to hear that you can't run out to Starbucks but I'm happy to hear that you've found an alternative. As for the apron removal bet, I'm guessing 18 pounds. I can't wait to see the results! Susan - great job on your weight loss! Keep us posted on the paint colors.
