Very cool, donali!! I was there in 1989. :success1:

You're very welcome, my dear.

LOL...that was hilarious!! I had to read it to my friend Shonda who is visiting from Oregon. We both got a good laugh out of it. We all have our "thing" and I guess mine happens to be leg lifts!! Ha ha. I can't bike ride for long distances as my butt falls asleep and my legs actually get tired. I can't jog for very long either. I can walk, walk, walk forever like you but it's so DANG hot here, I stay indoors most of the time now.

LOL...you're not crazy, my dear. I've thought the same thing but, as I'm sure you can understand, I know my body and my eating habits and they are not what they should be. It's definitely time for a fill. I don't mind if I eat more frequently (like every 3-4 hours) but when I can sit and devour and entire cup (or more) of food, that's definitely not me. I'm used to eating around 3-4 bites and then I'm full. I wasn't a big eater pre-banding, so a cup of food for me is like a pre-bandster meal. On another note, CONGRATS on your weight loss!! I'm sorry that you had to endure the odd situation on Mother's Day. I'm sure it was a bit disappointing that no one said anything about your weight loss. You're a strong woman and I'm sure that you got through it just fine. You seem a lot like me - - a woman that would hold her head up high and ignore the fact that no one noticed (or said anything) about your achievement. I know that you are proud of yourself and that is all that matters. But, just for the record, I'm proud of you too. *hugs*

Thanks, Heather! I appreciate your concern. My nurse practitioner does not do fills under flouro. I've had a total of 6 fills and 1 partial unfill and she has never once missed the port. With my last fill, either I was a bit too aggressive or it was just a tad bit too much. Either way, it was extremely uncomfortable and was the first time I had experienced being too restricted to the point where I couldn't keep anything down. With that said, now that I had .3cc taken out, I have less than what was in there before my last fill. I feel as though I'm wide open because I can eat quite a bit. I do hope that this next fill will get me back to the level of restriction I'm used to and that the weight loss will begin again.

Congrats on your wonderful NSV, Karen!! Isn't NYC fantastic??

I'm trying to build up the endurance to be able to jog but it is taking me a while. It's so hot and humid here in Louisiana, so I haven't been out for a walk/job for a while. I'm keeping my exercise routine inside for now. When I do go, I can jog for about 1/4 mile and then have to resume walking. I do this on and off throughout my walk. I also have bad knees and weak ankles so I have to be careful. I hope to be able to jog a full mile before the end of the year.

Diane and Susan - best of luck to both of you. I hope you both achieve the desired restriction! *hugs*

I posted the following in the "Weekend Weight Loss" thread and wanted to share with everyone here as well. Rather than losing weight this past week/weekend, I gained. I'm back up to 200 (or 201 depending upon the time of day) and a little disappointed. I've noticed that my restriction is all but gone because I'm eating more and more often. I'm not changing my ticker to reflect a gain though....ugh. I've made a Tuesday afternoon appt. for a fill. I want to be under 200 again and on the losing side. Hopefully this will kickstart things again. Please wish me luck?!?! Great job to those who lost weight!!

Gallergirl - thanks for the kind words. As far as the chicken salad is concerned, it's just canned white meat chicken mixed with mayonaise. I use fitday.com to track my caloric intake, etc., did a search for chicken salad and then used their indicated calories per my specific serving. Good luck with your upcoming diet changes. Tricia

I think that you should meet with your surgeon to discuss which tests he/she may require so that you can get a better idea. However, I will answer your questions. I was a self-pay patient, and my surgeon chose which tests for me to take depending upon my medical history and a series of questions. I had regular blood work, a psych evaluation and then an EKG a few days prior to surgery. Nothing more, nothing less. My surgeon also requested that I lose at least 1-2 pounds prior to surgery to reduce any fat I may have had around my liver. Some surgeons require more weight loss, some surgeons require none. My surgeon said that even 1-2 pounds would make the world of difference to him while I was on the operating table.

Mary, I eat both but don't count them into my daily caloric intake because I consider them free foods.
