C 189 (- 85 total, + 1 this week) WTF?? :tea: The sad thing is, I was down to 186 on Sunday and Monday. I finally reached my personal goal of jogging non-stop for 2 miles on Monday night and then yesterday morning, I weighed 189. I haven't changed my eating habits, etc. so, again, WTF?? I do admit that I'm a slave to the scales and have asked my DH to hide them and to only let me weigh on Wednesday mornings. I'm leaving my ticker and signature at 186 because I WILL get there again soon!!

I love this stuff but limit myself to 1 bag every 3-4 days. Besides Telly (the hottie), does anyone else love it as much as I do?

JoAnn - a few of us from the New Orleans area meet informally about once a week. You're more than welcome to join us. Keep in mind though, we are a mixture of lap band and RNY people. If you check out the Louisiana board on obesityhelp.com you'll find threads about meetings, etc. I believe there is an official OH chapter meeting this Thursday in Baton Rouge. Again, there will be both lap band and RNY people there but you're sure to find the support you need. Good luck!

Cheating..No, not with food!

Thanks for clarifying, Amy. I greatly appreciate it. -
I also wanted to add that my PCP was not only aware and educated about the band but wholeheartedly supported my decision.

While I agree with a lot of what Funny has said, I don't necessarily agree with the religious aspect of it. Maybe that stems from my being agnostic but, to me, it's just a matter of morals and character. -
I agree with the other posters. This is not a drastic change and, if used properly, can be a very useful tool. I've been banded for a little over 10 months and I've lost 88 pounds. As far as I am concerned, they are GONE FOR GOOD!! Alexandra mentioned that you should bring the Inamed Patient Handbook to your PCP so that she is better educated. I think this is a great idea. I've uploaded one to my server in the event you don't have one. http://www.triciakutz.com/lbt/LBPatientBook.pdf

Aww...I'm sorry Emilee! You're sooooo close to 199 though.

Christopher, the reason you should wait at least 1 hour after a meal before drinking is because it will essentially flush all of the food through the band. This defeats the whole purpose of the band, which is to restrict your intake and make you full on less food. If you've flushed the food through your band, you're going to get hungry sooner than you should.

My surgeon said that walking was fine, but anything strenuous was a no-no for the first 8 weeks. After 8 week, the sky was the limit. Also, during the first month, I was told not to lift more than 20 pounds. Because every experience is individual, you may wish to give your surgeon a call to inquire about his limitations/instructions.

I have never cheated and neither has my spouse. -
I am a mezzo soprano but can also sing alto. In high school and college, I was part of a 16 member choir, which sang mostly classical and jazz. I never pursued a singing career but always look for a local choir wherever I live. I have yet to find one that isn't religion-based. So, for now, I just sing in the occasional wedding and go to karaoke. Leona06 - that's impressive! When I was in high school, I dreamed about going to Julliard but never acted on that dream. As far as the "fat lady singing" comments, I've never heard them directed at me. However, my DH jokes around when people ask "When will this be over?" by replying with "When Tricia sings." I don't take offense to it because he's not mean-spirited and knows that I'm not self-conscious about my weight. But, you should see some of the looks we get from the other people!! :laugh

Congrats, BPM & Telly (and thanks)! cozzie - hopefully you'll have something better to report next Monday!

This morning I am maintaining the 2 lb. loss that I saw on the scales yesterday afternoon. I'm currently at 186.
